We stayed in the Alexander Pope hotel 23 & 24 May. As we had an early flight we arrived early at the hotel. Our room wasn't ready but we were able to check in and our cases kept. When we arrived back later our cases were in our room. The rooms are very tastefully decorated to a very high standard.... More

The last time I was in Twickenham this used to be a pub called the Pope's Grotto. I was stunned to see what they've done to the place. Brilliant, spacious, very well-equipped rooms (I was in room 4) a great bar and restaurant attached and easy access to the River and some of the best walking around. A 5 star... More

We stayed here for work, easy to find, easy check in, easy check out. The room was luxurious, mini bar, Sky TV, Tassimo coffee machine, the only thing it lacked was a bath. My colleagues who all stayed on the first floor has a bath/shower, however I was the only one on the second floor and it only included a... More

The hotel is in a very good position only about ten minutes walk from Twickenham town centre and on the opposite side of the street is pleasant parkland alongside the River Thames. The railway station is about another 5 minutes away and the Twickenham Stadium another 5 minutes again. The extensive bar and restaurant has a conservatory extension which is... More

This was our 2nd time staying at The Alexander Pope and we went back because we enjoyed our stay a couple of years before to take in rugby at Twickenham. Hubby upgraded our room to a large one (#27 - 2nd floor at back looking out to side street). Good curtains for privacy. Small table and 2 chairs in the... More

What a fab place, superbly comfortable rooms, friendly helpful staff and a great relaxing atmosphere (even to the point I almost fell asleep in the armchair in the conservatory). Youngs' Hotels aren't particularly cheap but this one stands out for me as being well worth the value. I must also apologise to the cleaning staff for not washing the face-paint... More

My sisters and I chose this hotel because we were visiting my niece who was attending St Mary's University in Twickenham. We were here 5 nights before moving on to Paris. It was actually a relief to take the train away from the hustle and bustle of London and settle down in this quiet hotel every night. I would say... More

Thank you for your feedback following your recent stay. I'm delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and will certainly take a look at those devices with back lights to see if they can be made less intrusive particularly at night. I hope that we can welcome you back to the hotel again soon. More

We have stayed in this hotel a good number of times, but the recent refurbishment has really added value: well designed, clean rooms (including a welcome Nespresso machine) and ample space; lovely views over the Thames; a relaxed and convenient setting; and a pub that caters for all needs. A bus stops right in front of the hotel/pub - otherwise... More
