This was a one night stay at short notice for myself, however it does not excuse the state of the place. The room was obviously decorated by novices, wallpaper not adhered to the wall and pealing off in most places. There was a TV remote control but no TV........................... Electric shower over bath not connected to any electricity or water.Felt... More

Rough and ready hotel, rooms average but clean. The staff and local people were really nice and welcoming and the beer in the bar was £2 a pint. Looks rough on the outside but dont be put off by that as you get a warm welcome. Breakfast is served in the cafe next door and is cooked fresh and is... More

What can I say? This place reminded me of what hotels were like back in the bad old days when there was no competition from the big budget hotels. Good points- our room(no 13) although small was comfortable and relatively clean. Looked like it may have been done up fairly recently. Was at the front so nice view of church... More

This hotel is very dated and needs a complete renovation. Fifty pounds a night buys you a room in a premier inn, go there instead. The pub is very lively with some entertainment but it seems that there is no interest in the hotel side at all, water leaking through the ceiling, no mirror in the bathroom, stained towels, overall... Pleasant beer garden / smoking area. Good bar with attentive courteous staff. Good choice of food on the menu. Thanks Keith for your succulent meatballs. Will visit when in the area .

I recently stayed in The Kirkfield Hotel. I stayed in room 1 and found it to be impeccably clean. The bedding was fresh and everything was perfect. My mother and boyfriend also stayed on the same night as me, and we all agree that it is the best hotel around if you want somewhere friendly and homely to stay. The... More

I've stayed in a few hotels around the NW of late and this is probably the worst. First suspicions raised when the handle on my door had the screws hanging off. Lack of shampoo (small piece of soap provided) wasn't good, and the fact that a lamp had blown (for which I was given a replacement to fit myself) topped... More
