We stopped in for a light dinner and drinks and as expected it was quite busy for a Friday evening. The staff were very attentive and helpful finding us a table for dinner. The range on the menu was great - all the food was very tasty and larger portions than I was thought it would be for pub food.

We stopped here for one night in October. The stting is very nice, you can walk through the churchyard to the village centre where further drinking and eating choices lay together with the Sonning theatre. The rooms are characterful and quirky and in keeping with the age of the building. The restaurant is not the cheapest and the food was... More

Excellent food, (especially the breakfast) cosy room, extremely friendly and helpful staff. We have stayed before, and find the location extremely handy for Henley Literary Festival. We will certainly be back again next year.

A great Fullers pub, with great restaurant, selection of drinks and friendly staff. Booked at short notice and had a delightful overnight stay, make time for the legendary breakfast, but with such history in the building don't expect lush accommodation. Would definitely recommend and would visit again in a shot. Great Thames walks very nearby for casual and keen walkers... More

Hello Bob, Thank you for such a pleasant review! Glad you enjoyed the breakfast, we have great mixture of people staying for leisure and business and it would be wrong to give them anything less than a hearty breakfast to be getting on with their days! There is a great deal of truth in what you say about our accommodation-... More

Can say which attracts me more , the great bar with real locals, the local produce restaurant or the very comfortable rooms. Every category was a success! Very worth a visit. The breakfast will was an amazing buffet with hot food made to order!

We went for a meal for our wedding anniversary. We ordered 2 meals, 1 Chicken Fajitas was swimming in grease, very little favour, clearly bottled salsa and guacamole. The special siziziling beef and lamb was not sizziling, was not seasoned and was served with the same bottled guacamole and salsa as the fajitas. Both meals were barely touched, the waitress... Really loved this inn - we had a couple of nights staying in one of the Superior rooms. The room and bathroom were a good size and a very comfortable bed! We were above the bar which, as people have said, does carry some sound into the room, but really wasn't a problem if you're not phased by a gentle... More

Stayed one night in Room Harris. Room smallish. Bathroom little more than a cupboard. Shower cubicle cleanish but strange white sticky sealant coming off. Hot tap swivelled in basin. Toilet seat really needs replacing. No shelving for toiletries. Lovely white fluffy towels and lots of hot water. Bed very comfortable. Decent evening meal. Drinks on the expensive side. Bar closed... More

Excellent to find that the Inside of this comfortable and relaxing old inn hadn't been wrecked by trendy interior decorators. The Butcombe Rare Breed cask pale ale was at the ideal cellar temperature and delightful, apart from its rather high price. Comfortable and reasonably priced accommodation. Good quality high-end pub food which was slightly over-priced. Helpful, friendly and busy staff... More
