Arrived at The Waterloo Hotel earlier than specified time of check in (14.00 ) I arrived at 13.00. I did not get a warm welcome at this stage , rather an 'oh my god you are early. what do you think you are doing'? I was told that I would have to pay an extra charge of £10 for arriving... More

This hotel is tired and needs a 'modernisation' injection. It has the potential to be a lot better that it is and the part of the hotel we stayed in was tired! I asked for a ground floor room, which I got but had to go upstairs then downstairs to get to it so its no good for disabled guests.... More

This hotel seriously needs TLC and could be as website describes. So hot and took ages too get a fan as not enough to go around for each room. We couldn't keep window open as so noisy. I opened window and so loose nearly coming off its hinges. Staff are also very rude and unhelpful apart from housekeeper who kept... More

On the face of it the hotel should be nice, based on the website and descriptions, however I found the hotel in much need of maintenance and renovation. The first room I was given had a very noisy bathroom fan which would not turn off so I requested another room. The second room was better, however the bedside tables were... More

The hotel was ok for an overnight stay but it isn't great. I did not like the fact it felt like a maze to find where my room was located with lots of stair climbing. Reception didn't give any indication on where to go in the hotel. Generally, staff were nice and I was able to get some snacks from... More

Another conference and another B&B. The Waterloo Hotel presents as a relatively well kept hotel with reasonable public areas, restaurant and garden. However as soon as you leave the reception to go upstairs it is clear that any maintenance hasn't reached that far. I arrived after an eventful 15 minutes of trying to find the hotel as my sat nav... Stayed in a twin room over the ascot weekend and despite booking well in advance the hotel charged double their normal price. I wouldnt have minded but the booking photos do not reflect the actual poor condition of the rooms. My room was on the ground floor but I had to go up 2 flights of stairs and then down... More

We have stayed here many times over the years but recently it has gone downhill rapidly. The staff are good but the fabric is beginning to show its age and really needs updating. The car park is full of rubbish from last winter and the windows don't look as if they have been cleaned

Booked two rooms, a twin for my parents and a double for my wife and I The rooms showed their age, and the bed is the worst bed I have ever slept in - Really soft... I got up in the morning after a restless uncomfortable sleep to find that the shower was faulty - The silicon around the bath... More

I had to stay here whilst working some odd contract hours, I had a room in the old part of the hotel right at the top of some little stairs, an attic room I guess no 327. Was a leak in the roof up the stairs but we have had a lot of rain lately, so these things do happen... More
