Spent a few days based at the hotel and it was a great place to stay, nice rooms, very clean and good facilities including the free Wifi service which (although needs renewing every 24 hours) is very good. Great car park with ample parking and your car can be seen from most rooms. Very helpful staff and hotel although on... More

Travelled with CAB to the Battle of the proms. The hotel was advertised as a 4* when in fact it was 3*. Rooms were clean on the surface however, a thick layer of dust was on the bed head and when attempting to store some bags on top of the wardrobe, was discouraged by a cloud of dust. I brought... I booked this hotel through an independent website where it was listed as a grade II renovated building with each room enjoying a garden view. The 'renovated' part turns out to be a travel lodge style massive extension that holds most of the rooms and the garden view is actually the car park (or if you're lucky, the beer garden... More

We have just had a brilliant weekend trip with CAB coach holidays to Battle of the proms at highclere castle. We stayed at the Waterloo Hotel at Crowthorne and it was brilliant. Staff were most helpfull. The food was excellent and well presented with generous portions. We read comments on trip advisor and were concerned as some were very poor.... More

Arrived at The Waterloo Hotel earlier than specified time of check in (14.00 ) I arrived at 13.00. I did not get a warm welcome at this stage , rather an 'oh my god you are early. what do you think you are doing'? I was told that I would have to pay an extra charge of £10 for arriving... More

This hotel is tired and needs a 'modernisation' injection. It has the potential to be a lot better that it is and the part of the hotel we stayed in was tired! I asked for a ground floor room, which I got but had to go upstairs then downstairs to get to it so its no good for disabled guests.... More

This hotel seriously needs TLC and could be as website describes. So hot and took ages too get a fan as not enough to go around for each room. We couldn't keep window open as so noisy. I opened window and so loose nearly coming off its hinges. Staff are also very rude and unhelpful apart from housekeeper who kept... More

On the face of it the hotel should be nice, based on the website and descriptions, however I found the hotel in much need of maintenance and renovation. The first room I was given had a very noisy bathroom fan which would not turn off so I requested another room. The second room was better, however the bedside tables were... More

The hotel was ok for an overnight stay but it isn't great. I did not like the fact it felt like a maze to find where my room was located with lots of stair climbing. Reception didn't give any indication on where to go in the hotel. Generally, staff were nice and I was able to get some snacks from... More

Another conference and another B&B. The Waterloo Hotel presents as a relatively well kept hotel with reasonable public areas, restaurant and garden. However as soon as you leave the reception to go upstairs it is clear that any maintenance hasn't reached that far. I arrived after an eventful 15 minutes of trying to find the hotel as my sat nav...
