As nobody else has said this, this hotel is now closed down. I have never stayed there as it's near my house I just drive past most days and would see the restaurant empty even when it was opened. I suggest you search Alma Lodge a bit further up the road the other side of Stockport.

Staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Looked and felt like a new bed and pillows, bathroom suite, kettle etc. Tea and coffee available in the room, decent TV. Breakast excellent, 3 types of cerial, orange and apple juice and choice of full english, scrambled or poached eggs on toast. As much toast, tea and coffee as you wanted.... More

I had my 40th birthday party at this hotel last night with lots of friends booking rooms. I admit the rooms were basic, but I found them to be clean and presentable. The staff were excellent and couldn't have done more for me! The manager was excellent and was constantly checking that I was ok and enjoying my party. We... More

Perhaps it's me, I travel a lot and have stayed in worse. I've read the other reviews, certainly today, I arrived, friendly staff, large double room clean and comfortable. To be honest, a clean room with breakfast for £ 40 is not that bad. I stayed on the ground floor, the WIFI is free and usable, i'm writing this using... More

I needed a hotel at short notice due to a family bereavement and picked this one as there was not much choice for the dates we needed. It was awful. The toilet in my room leaked. They 'mended' it by mopping up the water from the floor. My sons' room had nasty stains on the ceiling (!) and walls, and... More

We stayed in a family room, one double bed & one single bed. The room was very basic & not particularly clean & had a very overpowering smell of air freshener to try & cover the smell of cigarette smoke. We were only given two small towels between the three of us, the shower didn't work properly & wasn't wall... More

We booked 3 rooms here for guests during my sister's wedding. We chose the hotel as the price was reasonable and it is located near to our house. positive points - car parking, fairly decent sized rooms, staff seemed friendly, the shower seemed quite good. negative points - the rooms are a bit dated, it would benefit from a minor...
