High standards of professionalism from everyone you come into contact with here. The place is kind of old fashioned overall - but in a good way. Immaculately clean and with a lot of care and thought in the place. Room was big and airy with a good bed. Bathroom fine although the shower was a little weedy - not terrible,... More

We did not stay at the hotel but can say that the downstairs was very clean. The food was lovely and the staff very friendly. The only negative thing to say really is that we went outside to get some fresh air as it was a very hot evening to cool down and came back in with fresh drinks from... More

We had a lovely stay at the Wycliffe last weekend, from the second you walk in it is just so friendly and welcoming. We had a few drinks in the lovely bright comfortable bar, welcomed then served by the nicest young lady we've ever had the pleasure to meet working in a hotel. We were eating out so can't comment... Stayed at the Wycliffe saturday 28th , 4 of us were going to a dinner at the barracks in Edgeley. Friendly welcome from a lovely girl , long dark hair sadly we didn't get her name but she also served us at the bar , made us feel at home and is a great asset to the hotel. Free wifi... More

After having walked out the Britannia hotel within 5 minutes because of the filth, we walked into this place. It was going from hell to heaven! The staff is So SO So friendly and helpful, they can just not do enough for you. The rooms are plain, simple, but immaculately clean, there is internet, flat screen tv, ironing board and... More

This hotel offers a very high standard of food and good, personal service. The building itself isn't modern (creaky floorboards, slightly odd-shapes to some of the reception rooms and so on) and is reasonably well maintained. I rather have the impression that each of the bedrooms is unique and there are single, doubles, triples and perhaps others. The hotel isn't... More

We stayed at the Wycliffe for 10 nights during the Stockport portion of our UK trip. We had pulled it up on Tripadvisor and then it was recommended by a local family member. We were very happy we made the booking. The service was excellent from the time we arrived to the moment we left. Richard, manning the front desk,... More

I stayed here on a business trip and it was booked for me. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean. Only draw backs were that the hot water in the basin and the shower took a long time to come through and I couldn't see any disabled access (not disabled myself but have an interest and look... More

The Wycliffe was more like a modern Italian hotel than the name suggests. The rooms and furnishings were modern, almost minimalist, but with warmth and a very comfortable feel. Everything was spotless, the bed was excellent and the room itself was good sized. Breakfast in the morning was first rate. No complaints at all.

We attended a murder mystery event on March 22nd and throughly throughly enjoyed ourselves! The food was to 'die' for Prawn Cocktail to start followed by an entree of Pea & Ham Consume. The main course was Beef Wellington served with Baby New Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables and Dessert was a crisp fresh Fruit Salad. The staff's service and demeanor all... More
