Check-in was a little dis organised with the receptionist being on the phone whilst doing it-not really a personal touch. Rooms were dirty, old and tattered with large cracks in the ceiling. Breakfast however was beautiful, lovely sausage and fab bacon-only reason I would ever go back would be for the breakfast, a real asset to the hotel.

As others have clearly said, the hotel is very dated and in need of some TLC. My wife said that Alex Polizzi would love to help out on this one. Yes it has seen better days, but they could really improve things with a redecoration. The staff were polite enough, but not the most joyful of people. I think again... More

Arrived to a full car park and a rude reception. Double booked my room and i had to sort out the confusion with no help from staff. I was eventually given a dirty pokey room instead. Never going there again.

I have to be honest as there's no point in giving other people false hope. I arrived late on the friday night and all I wanted was to sit down at the bar and have a few pints before going to bed. When I arrived into the hotel all I could smell was a musty smell of damp with 2... More

The hotel is situated on a very busy main road, only minutes away from Stepping Hill Hospital so ambulance sirens pass often during the night. The hotel has a steep flight of steps up to the main entrance, and there is no lift to the bedroom floors. The general decor is extremely poor, worn carpets, uneven landing floors, poorly lit,... Needs dragging out of the 70's with regard the decor but clean rooms and bedding. Huge bedroom!! We were there for a function at the hotel and stayed that night. Friendly and helpful staff and excellent breakfast. Just requires some modernisation. But for an overnight stay - it suited what we needed at a very good price.

I booked this hotel online as it was close to where I was going to meet my extended family. Last time I was in this hotel was a family get together, possibly a wedding, years ago. Parking was no problem, in front of the hotel in its own car park. Reception staff were really helpful. The decor could do with... More

The staff were very helpful, allowing us to check in early,as we were going to a concert, there was also someone on duty to let us in when we returned, despite the late hour. The room was clean, and the bathroom facilities spotless. The price was good value for money. We were comfortable, and slept well.

Firstly all the categories I graded one please ignore them I only did because there is no 0 me and some colleagues had to stay here for a night due to our normal hotel (the alma lodge) being fully booked. We immediately decided that the best thing to do would be spending a few hours in wetherspoons to 'boost moral'... More
