Have just returned from the Deanwater following a super lunch from the festive menu. I had salmon - really lovely sauce. The veg were very good (tiny point, I think the sprouts were frozen because the taste was not quite up to standard). One of my party had beef and said it was ok but she didn't feel it had... More

I stayed here on a business trip for two nights. Upon arrival the hotel reception building looks old and charming, the staff are pleasant and professional. I was provided a key to the hotel bedroom that is located on the far-side of the car park. It is a modern building, designed like a C-section (in plan view), with an internal... More

When I arrived at this hotel, I knew it wasn't going to be good. It is one of those English "rustical" hotels. By this I mean, they provide a sloppy service under the guise they are a countryside setup. I didn't get chance to get breakfast because they don’t do breakfast before 7 am but I still had to pay... Went out with friends for a meal here last night; venue was their choice. The car park was a nightmare to park in because they hold wedding receptions there too. We ended up parking on the drive near the gate! My husband and I both ordered black pudding and bacon stack for our starter; this had no flavour and was... More

I spent three nights at this hotel on a business trip and it was ok but I enjoyed a lot more the food in the restaurant than the room. The rate is reasonable but it doesn't include breakfast and around the hotel there is noting so if you don't drive you won;t have any other option. The entrance to the... More

I have stayed at this hotel every year for about 6 or 7 now as we attend an exhibition in the area every first week of Sept !! The hotel has been recently refurbished with some work still to do but overall the work has modernised and freshened the hotel up nicely the staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfasts... More

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary, mainly because the restaurant is so good. The rooms are fine and well decorated/appointed. The service was excellent in both the hotel and restaurant and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The bed was also one of the most comfortable we have had on any trip at home and abroad.

We stayed here for a wedding. The wedding was at 2pm but we couldn't get in the rooms until 2pm which was a bit of a pain as it meant we couldn't get ready in the room, but I know that's fairly usual for a hotel. The wedding itself was lovely, the setting was beautiful, the wedding food was fairly... More

We stayed here as we were attending a wedding, so were looking forward to having a lovely day and stay in a "posh" hotel. The hotel is in lovely surroundings, but unfortunately the hotel rooms are nothing to shout about. I thought room rate was quite expensive. In fact Premier Inn's are of a better standard. The rooms are very... More

The rooms do not merit a charge of £85 for a double and it smelt of cigarettes despite requesting a non smoking room. The breakfast staff were friendly and helpful, the bar staff grumpy and aloof. The cooked English breakfast was excellent.
