Good Old Talbot! What a great pub . Stayed here with our two dogs and had a really cracking time . Super friendly staff - some of the best beer on the planet - (Their own Brewery) , ruddy good grub and a comfortable room - what more can you ask for? Yes it is old fashioned and yes the... More

The Talbot is the best of old world pub/restaurants without being stuffy. I visit often for a quiet drink, and to be honest the beers brewed on site cannot be beaten, and starting at £2.80 for a terrific pint are great value. We took the family which includes three extremely noisy little girls, and a well behaved cavapoo for lunch.... More

The pub served its own beer - this, that and t'other which our beer drinkers found entirely acceptable. They also went well with the home cooked food which was sourced from their kitchen garden (pigs are also kept offering prize winning sausages at large, tasty breakfasts) bedrooms were on the small side but offered clean comfortable accommodation and the home... Charm? It is an old inn but there is nothing charming about squishy beds, substandard covers, narrow staircases and worst of all appalling noise from bar below. In the middle of nowhere but a noisy uncomfortable experience. Never ever again!

Me and my friends visited her for lunch and it was excellent, service was great, lovely gardens to sit out in the sun right by the river side. Food was good but a tad expensive. The service was also good and we were asked if we wanted more food or drinks

Arranged to meet friends here for lunch and left very disappointed. After taking an age to get our order taken by a single uninterested bar person I should have known what to expect. The food when it arrived was average at best with incredibly small portions and the order was incomplete. The waitress couldn't care less and eventually brought out... More

we had booked a room in another pub but on arrival found we couldn't dine. The landlord booked us into the Talbot as we didn't want to drink and drive and wanted wine with our meal. The Talbot was nestled by the river and we enjoyed a gin and tonic in glorious sunshine. The terrine starter was disappointing....rather tasteless and... More

Came with a couple of friends for a lunch on Sunday. Huge place with a large garden near the river. Food was poor and the service at the bar was "couldn't care less" though the waitresses were fine. They brew their own beer and that was quite good but I wouldnt come here again.

Stayed one night. I'd stayed before and thoroughly enjoyed the experience so I was looking forward to another visit. Friendly staff? Tick Great home brewed ales? Tick Fabulously tasty, seasonal, local food? BIG TICK. Good sized room with cheeky fruit liqueur? Tick. Comfy bed? Ah! Now there we had a problem. Beds were very ' firm' I might suggest a... More
