The pub is lovely. The setting idyllic and the staff friendly. Unfortunately, the food is awfull. The Chef tries to be very sophisticated but it just doesn't work. The coliflower cheese is pure salt and inedible. It is such a shame as eveything else about this pub deserves 5 stars. They just need a decent chef.

Had a lovely meal with friend who had never been before. The Talbot is warm and comfortable and you are welcomed by the staff. Excellent quality home made food that tasted great. Staff very nice and attentive making you feel relaxed. Glad we have moved up the road from the Talbot so we go often Thank you

What a find! Really looking forward to going back when not having to work. Fantastic home cooked food, all either home grown or locally produced, lively friendly people in the bar, eccentric building, just lovely. My husband was made welcome by the staff when he stayed behind to do some admin. The Talbot is a hub locally hosting various meetings,... More

Beautifully prepared and presented food. It's not cheap but you are definitely getting value for money. Beef that melts in the mouth and game birds cooked to perfection. My only gripe was that we couldn't fit it all in! The Teme Valley beer as ever perfectly kept, as it should be given it is brewed on site.

Had a meal at the pub restaurant which was very nice and great service. The pub allows customers with Motorhomes to park overnight in its car park which is very picturesque next to the river. Very friendly and welcoming staff.

Have stayed in The Talbot a couple of times in the past, albeit a good few years ago. Unfortunately, not as good as I remember it. The food was average to good, the staff and wine list both good and the beer excellent. But the accommodation was looking tired and past its best. I know it's an ancient building, and... More

We were not intending to stay as we were heading to the next town. However it was late afternoon and the sun was out and the beer garden looked inviting. The room was in the "old part" and was decent enough. The restaurant boasted using local produce and the meals were excellent, the Chicken and Leek pie was baked in... More

Stayed for one night. Room was clean and tidy. I was a little concerned that the door lock was barely hanging on my door, although I did not feel unsafe here, it's a basic fix that should have been attended to prior to guests taking the room. Personally I loved that the room had uneven floors, even the chintzy curtains,... More

I visited the Talbot, somewhere I know well and keep coming back to time after time as its so dependably good. All local ingredient, local ales and ciders, some brewed by the original pub it's self, and friendly and helpful staff. The food last Sunday was spectacular, all fresh in season veg, great home made dishes and the main roast... More

We visit the Talbot on a weekly basis, for a drink or a meal so when we had family coming over Sunday morning we agreed to meet at The Talbot for breakfast, well saves me getting the grill on! Wow what a lovely surprise, eggs, bacon, locallly reared sausage, fried bread, black pudding, tomatoe and kidneys plus lovely fresh bread... More
