First time visit after the refitting. Food well up to standard, but where oh where have the tablecloths gone? It's not nice eating off sticky tables amongst the food particles from the previous diners. The presentation of this place used to set it apart, now it's just like any other pub.

We visited this pub with friends that live in the area.We had booked a table for 1pm and had the choice of any table. It was quiet for a Sunday but that might have been because of the hour going forward. It filled up by the time we were leaving. The staff were very friendly and not too attentive considering it was... More

We stayed here in September 2014. We booked via booking.com which stated breakfast included in room price. Unfortunately, they had it wrong as we were advised upon arrival. However, the staff were extremely friendly and honoured our free full English breakfasts. The room was comfortable, the food in the restaurant was out of this world and the pub was nice... More

Me and my family were staying at the owners house for two nights and there was a note left to say this was their pub, so as we didn't know the area we went there one evening. The pub was lovely with the same very tasteful decor as the owners house. Cutlery and plates and bowls were all high quality... More

Discovered this pub by accident whilst staying in the area for four days. The decor was pleasantly surprising as was the standard of food and selection of table wines. My friend had the Medallion of beef, I had the steak and stout pie, both delicious, accompanied by a smooth Chilean merlot! We returned two nights later, reversed the order and... More

Called in here early for dinner one Saturday! Staff were maybe a little I attentive, but maybe the full evening restaurant staff had not yet started their shift, as we were served by the barman! The started were a little disappointing, I had the fish cakes, which were tiny, a bit over cooked, and didn't seem to have a lot... More

We called in on the off chance and really chuffed with the decisionto do so . It is a nice warmly decorated place with really friendly staff and a really well priced varied menu as well as a fixed price 2 /3 courses menu . Don't forget the specials board over the fireplace had some nice fish courses on today... More

We had 2 meals in August and will use when next in area. First ordered a light meal but was disappointed with poor LasagnaExcess pasta and dry. Second night we had Trio of Lamb, and Belly o Pork. Both were exceptioal. The staff were friendly but servicesw was terribly slow on busy night. Problem was23 people booked between 7.15 and... More

It was a Sunday afternoon and we ended up at The Flyford Arms by chance after a disappointing visit to a different establishment just down the road (The Red Hart). We were desperate for a Sunday roast and had been shocked by the place down the road that had their signage out advertising meals yet failed to inform customers that... More

We had good food but a few things let it down. The first was the slow service, getting the main meal was slow, but the desert took forever to come. It's a shame as the food is exceptional value, I guess if you've got a heap of time that wouldn't matter. I found the portions overly generous for the price.... More
