More of a pub than a Hotel. Recently stayed 2 nights Thursday and friday.Room 1 Squeeking air vent, mould and damp patches and cover missing off the light in the shower room. The room itself was comfortable, bed was comfy but had to put 2 cushions between the loose headboard to stop it banging against the wall each time you... More

Glad we were only staying one night. Floor was not hoovered, there were holes in the wall, bin was not emptied. Cup and tea facilities were dirty. Breakfast was good and pub is great but would not stay here again

This is more of a pub than a hotel. We stayed on a staurday night and had to contend with yobbish singing until well after midnight. We had room 1. The room itself was comfortable enough, though rather dated. The shower room however, smelled very musty. There was mould on some of the filler and the toilet was badly stained... More

While we had a good night sleep on a comfortable bed,the over all appearance of the room could have been better, The towels were lovely and a decent size but the bathroom looked like it could have done with a really good clean. The staff were cheerful and the breakfast very nice but I don't think we would stay again.

All of the earlier reviews about the rooms are accurate (or at least they are based on my one night stay). The infamous Room 8 is indeed shabby, cold, badly decorated etc, etc. I thought places like this ceased to exist in the 80s, but this proves me wrong. However, the bar area is really nice and the food is... More

We booked for 2 nights last minute while travelling thru England. This place was cheap, clean and the bed was amazing! It certainly has been the best place we have stayed so far. Have read the other reviews, but we didnt experience anything negative, and we stayed in room 2. The breakfast was lovely & fresh, we were amazed to... More

A friend and I stayed at this hotel for one night. The food was good, staff were friendly and the bar had a nice atmosphere. We didn't check into our room until the end of the night. That is when the problems began. We were given the keys to room eight and walked down a long dark hallway, on the... More

Small group of us booked two rooms to stay one night. On arrival we were told that there was an engagement party that evening and to expect it to be noisy. We were travelling with 2 children under 11 so were quite concerned. We were given keys to room 8 and 9 and left to find the rooms ourselves. Room... More

We stayed at the hotel for a family wedding evening reception and the bride booked the room for us in advance. On arrival at 5.30pm we checked in. No one took a car registration or our card number. We were told that they had a plumbing problem so would we mind a twin instead of the double we had booked.... More

We stayed for 1 night at The Kings ArmsMelksham, in July, 2012. We arrived mid afternoon and were told our double room was ready (£75 incl.breakfast). When we entered the room, we notice the carpet was dirty and not hoovered, bed linen not changed, toilet seat broken and bathroom light flashing, the towels were damp and obviously used previously. We... More
