Craig and the rest the staff was extraordinary. They went above and beyond to attend to our needs during our recent visit. We had specific requirements surrounding an early morning solstice visit to Stonehenge and The Barleycorn Inn really came through with excellent food, drink and hospitality. Good luck to Craig, the new proprietor of this quaint and lovely inn.

My family and I were travelling home from Torquay on the scenic route avoiding the motorways when we came across The Barleycorn Inn. What a wonderful accident. The 9 of us were greeted warmly and tables were moved to accommodate us without hesitation. We ordered light lunches of sandwiches and baguettes. The waitress was lovely, knowledgeable about the menu, efficient... More

On our way back from a day at Avebury, four of us, one in a wheelchair saw The Barleycorn and thought we would give it a try. We were greeted by assistant manager, a lovely young lady, who opened side doors to enable easy access. Once inside we had a really enjoyable meal and plenty of attention to make sure... More

My parents have lived just over the road from what's now the Barleycorn (it was the Cleaver until the 90s) since 1982 so we're very used to the comings & goings here. Landlord Brendan and his fantastic team have been catering for us pretty much every time we book half the restaurant out for family get togethers for the last... More

We have just come home from staying at the Barleycorn inn for the weekend and I have to say its one of the best b&b's I've ever stayed in. The rooms are plush and large with all the amenities you need to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. My husband and I stayed with our two children aged 7 and... More

Found this pub almost by accident after getting lost and needing a bed for me and a very tired I've year old. Not only was it extremely reasonable but our room was lovely and quiet, spotless and modern and of a really high standard. We didn't stay for breakfast as we wanted to get home but we had a great... After having been told by various friends over the years that poor ratings on tripadvisor are generally the result of malicious competitors/useless staff I have come to agree with them. How can 97% of guests in any resort be so keen and 3% be so wrong and it's a pattern that encompasses so many holiday destinations. To be honest I... More

Had a wonderful night. Came down with my dog, she was made to feel extremely welcome. Very good food cooked by owner and head chef Brendan, all fresh and home made. I had scallops risotto which was perfectly prepared. The rooms are very tidy and well furnished. I had no complaints and importantly for the dog we were close to... More
