We booked late and were surprised to see so many rooms available. Now we know why! We stayed in room 21 in the rear of the hotel, an add on to the original building. The room was grubby, dusty and in very poor condition. A refurbishment and deep clean is desperately required. Cracked toilet pan, chipped enamel bath, mould in... More

We booked an overnight stay here to celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary. We had the George Moore room which was lovely, the views were beautiful. The room was a great size with a good sized wardrobe, desk, tv and 2 seater sofa. The bathroom was huge, with the added bonus of two sinks. I don't usually sleep well in hotels... More

Beautiful, charming and elegant hotel, wonderful decor, very cosy and exceptional staff. Lovely cocktails, roaring fires and lovely, cosy lounges. Excellent service, we felt very welcome and well looked after. Highly recommended.

Just had a weekend there, what a beautiful village, the Hotel is wonderful, we stayed in the Jo Moore room which was lush, we slept so so well, I must add the thing you notice the most are the wonderful staff, a special thank you to Chris and the night Porter. Great Hotel, lovely location.

After many visits It is with sadness that I report that the Hotel has lowered its standards to that of a Normal but Expensive Hotel, the staff continue to be attentive. Those who expect those nice delicate touches are no more, special occasion drink and chefs specials no more, after dinner home made chocolates no more, Dinning, the dinning room... More

FANTASTIC! This is our fourth stay at this amazing hotel and we will be coming back..and back..and back!! It's always has been excellent but now even better with the refurbishment - decor is great, contemporary but not too modern so very much in keeping with this wonderful building. Food is divine, service exemplary and the rooms in the main building... More

The family had a delicious Sunday Lunch in this lovely modern looking Bouitique Hotel, what a make-over! The lunch was a real surprise with Hendricks gravadlax, lobster rissoto, lobster bisque, etc - all brilliant. The mains of Lamb cutlets, beef rib-eye and venison pie were just delicious. Could not manage pudding but they looked really good! The wine menu is... More

We stayed at the Old Bell in mid February for two nights amid the storms and were very impressed. The staff were very helpful and the hotel itself is full of character, being steeped in history. The accommodation was excellent and it was great to come down to such a nice varied breakfast each morning - probably the best scambled... More

Visited this hotel and stayed for a couple of nights. This hotel is big and old with a lot of history. Good service when my booking company had messed up the payment a bit. We cleared everything out. I had a nice room at the "attic". Was ok but there was constant dripping from the showerhead. Nice view over the... More

February, not the warmest or dryest month of the year, and this year was no exception. As we entered the Old Bell with the winter sun streaming through the windows and the crackle of the logfire all our concerns melted, and we enjoyed a two night break with wonderful food and service. The food here is consistently the best we've... More
