I've stayed here a couple times previously but on this occasion was rather disappointed. As other reviewers have noted, the hotel does have a lot of potential and maybe this has clouded my perceptions. The town itself is great and the hotel is located in the middle of the high street. My main issues were the room (5) and proximity... More

The Kings Arms has a load of potential which is not being tapped into!.Rather than just being negative on here, i wish to explain what i feel is wrong with the hotel. I understand there has just been a change of management, and I give the "average" score based on the helpful staff and cosy lounge and fire. (I will... More

This is an old coaching inn which accounts for the narrowness of the alleyway leading to the car park at the back of the hotel. We were able to get our car in with care. Our room was in the old stable block. it was noisy until about 11pm. The room was clean and comfortable with good quality bedding and... More

Malmesbury is a very pretty town and this lovely hotel is right in the centre of the high street so perfect for shopping etc. the room we had was on the outside near the pub car park and was ideal for us as my husband is disabled and can't climb stairs. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the... More

I had read the previous other reviews so I did have a feeling what to expect. We were in Malmesbury for an event at the Abbey so very convenient at least for that. We were given a room in the stables block of 3 which was a big mistake. It's right opposite the beer garden which was in full swing... More

For an old village pub I expected more, little disappointed after attending a private function in the room upstairs above the main pub nice size room but could have been laid out much better. food was reasonable nothing special. only good thing was reasonably priced drinks. but tiny corner bar upstairs in the function room. needs big updating on décor... Well I don't know where to start! I understand the hotel has ongoing refurbishments, but the double room we had was filthy!!!! I wrote my name in the dust under the tea and coffee tray. The shower was so dirty I felt I was cleaner before I got in it and the famous stinking slimy (it's been mentioned in previous... More

Disappointing! We stayed in a twin room which would have benefitted from being a double as the wardrobe wouldn't open fully as the bed was in the way. The room was dirty & clearly hadn't had a thorough clean for quite some weeks (see photos). The mattresses were also past their best. When mentioned to the staff they said it... More

Awful night at his hotel where we paid £75 for 1 night in a nasty little room with uneven floors and dirty laundry. Breakfast not good either. The photos on the web site are nothing like what we were offered and when we commented on our disappointment they seemed entirely disinterested. They advertise as free wi if but when we... More
