Fantastic place to stay, great food good service, and yes it looks tired but what do you expect from a 17th century pub. Fantastic staff tell stories of spoooooky going on and the things they have seen and heard, kids loved it, we stopped here to and from cornwall visited longleat from here, very easy. Food was super, good value... more

I stayed at the Lamb as part of a group of 20+ bellringers. The staff were very helpful with making arrangements and the weekend was a great success. We had a group dinner on Saturday evening for 31 and everyone thought it was excellent. Service was rather slow but we had no other plans so it just took all evening.... more

The restaurant and pub areas are exactly what you want in 100+ year old pub: low ceilings, and cozy nooks & crannies. We stayed here after a day spent visiting Longleat safari park - it's about a 30 min drive. It's a 'sister' hotel to the Boisdale restaurants in Belgravia and the City , so we were looking forward to... more

On a recent trip to see friends in Devon, we decided to break our journey and stop at the Lamb Inn for lunch. We had booked a table for 2 and even though we were very late (we discovered that traffic can be a problem around Stonehenge) the restaurant staff were very accommodating and did not rush us at all.... more

Lovely village and from the outside what appears to be a great restaurant with rooms_it is apparently being refurbished and we may just have been unlucky in getting one of the very tired rooms which was pretty awful .The welcome was almost non existent with no help offered Supper was very good and waiting staff helpful and enthusiastic Bar is... more

We had two very enjoyable evenings at the Lamb in Hindon. The Inn is dog friendly and is influenced by the Scottish Highlands. Dogs are allowed in all bar areas apart from the restaurant. The evening meals are delicious, I particularly enjoyed the hot roasted salmon and my husband felt the lamb was the best he had ever tasted. The... more

Booked a long weekend to meet up with my mother, unfortunately a crisis at home meant that i had to cancel my first night on the day of arrival. To their credit the Hotel did not charge me for the cancelled night - granted it was the Friday of a bank hol weekend, but good service all the same. The... more

We stayed at the Lamb Inn to enable us to be at Longleat House nice and early. The room was pleasant enough but no view at all and more disturbingly Room 11 sits right above the pool room. On the evening of our stay a few of the locals decided to hold a pool competition, until 01:30 in the morning.... more

We stayed for two nights at the Lamb and the overall experience was very good. It is pretty much how you might imagine the perfect Inn - cosy log fires, full of charm and a real feeling that travellers in times gone by would have been drinking beer in the various corners of the place. I suppose our expectations were... more

Hindon is a very pretty village and The Lamb, is a cosy and popular coaching inn with roaring log fires, good food and a great selection of whiskies. I'd really recommend this place for lunch or dinner (booking may be required for Sunday lunch in particular).....but the overall experience is let down a little by the rooms. Our room had... more
