Excellent 16 Century inn in the middle of Devizes. Rooms have recently been modernised, nice big double bed and large en suite shower. The landlord and landlady were very friendly and welcoming. Good beer, great breakfast, not expensive and a fantastic welcome.

We had a special birthday day out visiting Stonehenge and Avebury. We stopped for lunch at the White Bear and felt we couldn't have made a better choice. The Sunday roast they do here is fantastic! The meat was cooked perfectly and the portions were generous. The choice of excellent vegetables was served separately and we both thoroughly enjoyed our... More

Myself and my partner stayed here this weekend as a last minute trip, and had a relaxing few days in Devizes which was accentuated by fantastic hospitality at the White Bear. The White Bear itself is a traditional warm, cosy old English pub, and you are made to feel very welcome by the friendly owners. The rooms are spacious, comfortable... More

Called in last Sunday for lunch expecting it to be just okay because of the price but we were really impressed with the quality and quantity of the food. Served nice and hot we had tasty beef and lovely fresh vegetables followed by spotted dick and custard. Yummy. A small venue which was busy so it would be advisable to... More

Sorry, summed it up in the title, but seriously, the beer served in here is fantastic; never been disappointed. Apparently, the cellar has a naturally consistent 12 degrees, and consequently the beer is consistently good. It is a Wadworths house and serves the usual 6X etc (my favourite is the IPA), but, nice chap that I am, I'm more than... More

We stayed at the White Bear for a few days and were very impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners. The rooms had been recently renovated and our's was very comfortable with en suite facilities. Fiona's English breakfast was excellent too. We very much enjoyed our stay, with Fiona and Geoff, and the fact that the Wadworth brewery... More

We have stayed at the White Bear three times in the last twelve months, twice as a couple and once as a family with our two teenage daughters. On all occasions we have been overwhelmed at the level of hospitality shown by Fiona and Geoff. As a sufferer of a wheat allergy having someone go out of their way to... More
