We have just returned from a night at The Rectory and I have to say we enjoyed every minute. The building and grounds are beautiful, with some quirky touches which added to the charm. The staff were fantastic we were made to feel very welcome from the start with nothing too much trouble. We stayed in the Belas Knapp room... More

The Rectory hotel is absolutely superb in so many ways! The building itself is beautiful and full of gorgeous old features which make it a lovely place to visit. The drawing room downstairs is decorated very stylishly and the rooms are more period - both lovely. We have stayed there four times now, and each time we return the warm... More

We've just enjoyed a lovely night away at the Rectory. The building itself is very beautiful and although 'charming' seems to be an overused word when describing this place, it does just about sum it up. The staff were brilliant throughout. Very attentive and professional. Top marks! Like a previous reviewer we stayed in Belas Knap too. Although it was... More

Thank you for writing such a comprehensive review. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed The Rectory and had a great stay. I am sure you can appreciate that with a building of this age and size the upkeep is an ongoing project and something that we work hard at all year round. I must say that the gardens... More

Stayed one night with Living Social voucher. Place is full of character and we had a roomy, low-ceilinged attic room, the Belas Knap. It had a huge bed, a warm, well-stocked bathroom and a view over the grounds and fields beyond. The staff were uniformly young, friendly and helpful without being in the least bit stuffy. The included dinner was... More

The Rectory is in a wonderful location near Malmesbury on the A429 between Cirencester and M4. The building is very south Cotsold and attractive. The weather was extremely cold when we visited and the whole hotel was warm with a good ambience. The welcome was friendly and efficient. The public room very comfortable and well served with reading matter. The... More

My daughter is planning her wedding here in November this year - so my wife and I thought we would book a few days at the hotel to ensure it was suitable. Well we consider it to be a wonderful hotel with excellent staff, accomodation and the food was excellent. The pub over the road (the potting shed- owned by the... More

My wife and myself have recently enjoyed an overnight stay in the Rectory Hotel. Whilst the weather was cold the welcome we received on arrival was very warm and welcoming. We found the hotel very charming. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean with lovely views. The food was very nice and staff attentive. We had booked a voucher deal and it was extremely good value for money. The potting shed down the road is also a nice little pub.

The hotel itself is an absolute charm. Simplistically, but beautifully decorated bedroom (we stayed in Blass Kemp). Of course it is subjective but the french 'shabby chic' look is cosy and comforting. The staff were delightful, greeting you with a smile and a welcome. The food in the restaurant was delicious, both dinner and breakfast, but beware the portions are... More
