Beautiful property, excellent staff, excellent service. Lovely restaurant or they will book sister pub across the road (where we had great food) and was added to our hotel bill. No fuss, peaceful and quiett, great location for Westonbirt Arboretum. Lovely breakfast. Check comment below re mattress.

Rectory Hotel is like staying in someone's very lovely and very large house. The whole place has a homely feel, from the friendly welcome through to the comfy lounge complete with fireside games and fantastic rooms (amazing bath too!) The hotel was very quiet when we stayed - we were in fact the only people eating dinner one night. We... More

This is not the place to stay if you want high attention to detail, staff that will sort everything out for you in an instance, and gushing, sycophantic service. However, if you want to chill, eat some very decent food, and go for some lovely walks in the Cotswold countryside and get out of London for a weekend - and... More

My wife and I spent two nights here recently and had a lovely, relaxing break. The hotel has a lot of character and has been decorated in a shabby-chic style, which is much nicer and less fussy than many more traditional Cotswold hotels. We ate in the hotel the first evening, although were told on arrival that we would have... More

My wife surprised me with a stay at the Rectory for my birthday. We had a wonderful time. The staff are welcoming and very helpful. The rooms are quirky while being incredibly comfortable. My only regret is that we visited in the winter and could not take advantage of the pool. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway.

If you are looking for a super laid back escape this is the place for you. Don't expect attentive service, do expect happy smiley, laid back staff. We stayed for a Saturday night with our 2.5 year old daughter (who loved the place). The exterior of the building and the grounds are lovely and I would love to visit again... More

It would be very unkind to the wonderful staff at The Rectory not to write a review - but was sorely tempted! We had the most wonderful Christmas there with all the family including 4 grandchildren ranging from 6 years to 6 months (and congregating from UK, France and Italy) and we all felt throughout as if we were staying... I went with my boyfriend to this Hotel who used it to propose, and what a choice ! From the moment of walking through the door we were greeted and looked after with extremely helpful staff. The food was excellent and the staff went out of their way to book us a table at their sister pub across the road... More

This is our third stay, and we visited this time with another couple who were just as impressed as us. The staff are young, charming, warm and efficient and a great tonic when compared to the service at corporate chains. The hotel itself is lovely, set in a sweet village in lovely grounds with an outdoor pool. The communal rooms... More

I just organised a 50th birthday party weekend for my wife and her siblings and university and other friends mostly coming from London, the west country and one couple from Canada. We had exclusive use of the hotel from Friday to Sunday and ate al our meals at the hotel. There were 22 of us. The hotel turned out to... More
