I visited the Castle Inn last Sunday for lunch with a group of friends, the occasion being to celebrate the birthday of one of us. The staff were very welcoming and our table by the open log fire very cosy. We were very surprised and delighted when the waiters brought along our desserts together with a lit candle and joined... Four of us all had a lovely roast meal last Sunday. I was particularly pleased that the puddings were a managable size, rather than the usual monstrousity which ruins the whole meal. Another good point was the carpets reducincg the background noise. We received a warm welcome and the staff were attentive throughout. Roast poatoes were scrumptious and I would... More

I booked a room at the Castle Inn in December as a get away treat for my husband and our visit really didn't disappoint. Castle Combe is like something out of a movie set and the Inn is all part of it. On arrival we had been upgraded to a four poster room and the bottle of champagne was there... More

I can't think of a single issue with this wonderful hotel. Set in one of the country's most idyllic villages, the building itself is beautiful. The interior is tastefully decorated and our double bedroom was full of character including an exposed beam ceiling. We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel which were delicious. But what really stands this... More

Why do restaurants put a spoonful of pie filling on a plate with a pastry topping and call it a pie? NOT the Castle Inn Hotel there's comes as a 'proper' pie with yes a bottom, sides and a top and very good it was too. My partner had a nut roast, not something I would choose, but wrong I... More

Popped in for a bite to eat and was given a warm welcome, no spiced rum available, but loads of xo brandies to choose from? I had a Coke. Small and simple enough menu to choose from, I had the burger which was served on the obligatory piece of roofing slate with chips in a small basket, why do pubs/restaurants... More

The town is very small but extremely beautiful, even better that the pictures online. The hotel itself was very charming, we went on a Thursday evening so was practically the only guests. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The evening meal was a little on the pricey side but was very nice. We loved the bedroom, it was very... More

Although visiting locally on business this establishment is ideal for a couples getaway. From the warmest of welcomes as you enter to the pleasantly helpful staff. The rustic atmosphere captures everything you might expect from this part of the world. Free WiFi and rooms well equipped and generous. Worthy of the 5star rating I've awarded!

We had lunch today at The Castle Inn Hotel, we were made very welcome by the staff. Warm fire on a cold day, with a nice feel to the place, watch your head, plenty of low ceilings. The food is very good, well presented at good prices. Will visit again.

My wife and I visited the Castle Inn on Sunday night with two friends for what we thought would be a lovely meal to celebrate one of their birthdays. Having booked the table a good few weeks in advance and looking forward to the meal my wife and her friend had been online to see the menu and decided what... More
