A very good menu plenty to choose from, service good. I do have to say that it is only a pub, so the prices are expensive, if I was going to pay those sort of prices I would like a restaurant, and not have to order at the bar. It would not have been my choice, but friends booked it.... More

I thought I would take the family out for Sunday lunch. To the old house @ home inn. We haven't been out for a very long time and thought it would be a change. We were looking forward to the Sunday roast. But we are very disappointed. Two of us had roast beef and two of us had roast lamb... More

Hello Sir/Madam We are really sorry that you dissapointed with your Sunday Lunch. We have used the same butchers for years, and very rarely receive any complaints regarding our meat on Sunday lunchtimes. We will speak to the butcher as well as the chef regarding this complaint, as we take complaints very seriously. Throughout the company our Sunday roasts are... More

I visited on Saturday 9th Jan. '16 with some very good friends for out regular post-Christmas get together. We take it in turns to 'host' so this time I thought I'd try one of my long-standing favourite pubs 'The Old House at Home'. I haven't been there for several years so was a little anxious but if anything, it was... More

Just off the busy M4 but not within sound or sight of it is this impressive almost classic pub. It looks like a lot of money has been spent on this small chain of similarly named hostelries but what appears to have happened when you look closer is that they've taken an old building and tried to make it look... We have been for meals here before in 2012 and 2013. Both occasions were lovely. The place previously had a nice feel to it, a warm atmosphere and it was busy. However we went again last night for my Birthday. The food was nice however the staff were unfriendly, seemed uninterested in offering a warm and welcoming service. It was... More

20 years ago, this was the place to go for quality and service. 10 years ago and it seemed that they were riding on the back of their reputation. Now... Dated. Tired. Poor service and unwelcoming. Only gave two stars because we begrudgingly got served.

Hi, Firstly, we are a great local pub that serves our community, locals come in on a regular basis for Breakfast lunch and dinner as well as weekend drinks, If the service was so unwelcoming they would not return. Secondly the pub has just been decorated, with new carpet and upholstery, So I really can not understand your comments about... More

We stayed end of October and expected to stay in a charming old room in the inn; instead we were led up the garden path (literally) to a row of purpose built box rooms. The smell of disinfectant was overwhelming and the room was very dark. I would be very wary of any hotel that calls itself a 'boutique hotel'... More

This is the second time I have stayed & eaten here, the first time I gave it full marks and viewed it as outstanding. This time, not so much. The food was excellent, can't fault it in anyway and if reviewing purely on the basis of the evening meal and breakfast, I'd give it 5* But, I found the room... More

Very pleasant staff, excellent food (full English breakfasts, steaks, wine - portions are plentiful) and a lovely country-pub feel, with open coal-effect gas-fire. Excellent in the cold winter afternoons. Rooms are smallish, but warm and comfortable. Beds might be a bit short for those over six-feet tall. Bathrooms clean, bright and warm. Book the restaurant on Saturday night, as it... More
