This is the main hotel in Calne. It should be a flagship for the town. In stead it needs tidying up, better housekeeping and cleanliness. It could be so much better with a bit of TLC. The staff do their best but seem to be fighting a losing battle.

After checking out local hotels in Calne, my friend and I decided to stay here, we like things with history to them so thought it would be a nice place to stay. We had come down to visit a very good friend who was on need of some support. On arrival we could see that the room had been charged... More

Stayed here last night as we were attending a charity ball in the area. Have to say we had heard mixed reviews and so we're a bit apprehensive however we were both pleasantly surprised. We stayed in room 201 which also had a spa bath. The room was spacious, clean and lovely. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do... More

Another hotel that has seen better days Reception ares and bars slightly grubby with peeling paint and scuffed woodwork My room was a pleasant surprise as it had been recently re-decorated and looked rather nice The bed was comfortable and the bedding spotlessly clean The bathroom was a bit dated and I had a struggle to get the shower working... Thank you for leaving a review, the hotel has so much history behind it and everyone at the hotel is still amazed at what we can still find. We have had interior decorators out so we hope to start on the down stairs asap, I am glad that you enjoyed your stay and really hope that we see you again. More

I stayed for one night only but found the place very pleasant, a large room, wifi, clean, nice bar and restaurant area. Excellent breakfast. Car park. Spot on really. For all this I got it for a very reasonable 45 quid. And 6.95 for breakfast

We chose this place to over night. The rooms were clean the bedding fresh and clean. Enough hot water and towels. One disappointment was our room 407 was above the courtyard entrance the door it bangs open and closed as the smokers go outside to smoke till 11pm.

Thank you for leaving a review, I apologies about the bottom door that was banging, and we will get this looked at so the door closes slower, with less of a bang. we are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope that you will visit again. More

As we are locals we've never stayed at the hotel but have been a lot to the Sunday carvery and did so last week. It's always good quality, a choice of three roasts and they always let you have a bit of each. I did though have to ask for a bit more meat as the amount first given to... More

Thank you for leaving a review, The restaurant has been re decorated and we are still waiting for the separators to be fitted. as they were the wrong colour and needed to be sent back. Old hotel located on the main road through the centre of Calne. Rooms were clean, staff helpful. The hotel is an old Inn type building, quirky and characterful with lots of creaking stairs, uneven floors, log fires etc. Courtyard at the rear has a small seating area and parking.

Thank you for leaving a review. We are in total agreement that the hotel needs to be decorated! we have had an interior decorator in and the plans are at our head office.
