New chef, what a good job she does, I had chilli baked potato and it was the best I've ver had. Would recommend the lunch menu. Lovely staff behind the bar, clean and tidy. You can even buy eggs and game meat from one of the customers on Fridays.

I stayed here recently and was not overwhelmed by the experience. What could be a fine hotel in a fine setting looks a bit run down and generally lacking in investment. I had a room adjacent to where the flue extract from the kitchen runs up the outside of the wall. When that thing fired up at about 6pm it... More

The extract fan is on whenever the kitchen is use, as if we do not it will set of the main hotel alarms, and it certainly dose not vibrate the floor. The staff are dressed accordingly as you would expect in a 3 start inn. We either wear black shirts or company logo polo shirt. We cannot comment on the... More

Comfortable bed. Good breakfast. But; The room was obviously "cleaned" in a hurry before our arrival. Hair clips left on bedside lockers. Stains on the sheets. The only toiletries in the bathroom was a used bar of soap in the shower. We complained when checking out but were told management weren't available to speak to us. We have since received... More

I am sorry we can not respond to this review, with no room number or name of guest we cannot help. All we can say is there is a receptionist from 7.00am - 10.00pm and also two breakfast waiters/waitresses on. We do not take people to rooms we only explain how to get to your room, unless older people need... More

We originally booked this place as a last minute thing, however when we arrived the receptionist was very friendly and told us that they given us a free upgrade as they had a big group of people coming in that night, she also said we were welcome to eat in the restaurant but would have to book because of the... Thank you for your review. As you said you upgraded to a standard and did not complain about it although your group had booked the cheapest room which is a basic for you. You ordered boiled egg for breakfast which is not on the menu but which they did for you it is not on the menu for exactly the... More

Where do I start? I actually left on the first evening and got a full refund. Had planned to stay two nights in order to attend a Wedding. Here is a catalogue of some of the things that were wrong with the Lansdowne. First room had a door lock fault and some double glazing missing-not good as this room faces... More

Other then to say you were asked to leave the hotel and I offered to find you another hotel and that other members of the wedding party apologised for you I do not feel your review warrants any kind of response. More

This is a very old building with some quirky features - as you would expect in a building of this age. Yes, some floor boards may creak in the corridors and the plumbing can be a tad noisy but it has been decorated fairly recently and still retains appealing features that give good hospitality to travellers. Also, the price was... More
