We stayed at the George in late April. We loved it. The history was tremendous. For us Americans, any thing over 100 years old is facinating. The room was great, the food was good, and the service was friendly. more

A Lovely old building in a lovely location, could do with a bit of TLC. The staff were ok, breakfast ok but evening meal very poor. The noise from the pub opposite was horrendous yobs running around till all hours no chance of getting any sleep. WOULD NOT VISIT AGAIN more

The pub does not stock dry white wine. I dare anyone to order the Cottage pie; it was a special recipe of crushed beefburger and instant mashed potato. The seasonal vegetables were chips.
