Looked lovely from the outside, was nice inside but old décor. Our room was a four poster room but not the bath my husband thought he had booked. It was a lovely clean room but the bed was far too squeaky and old!! Nice hotel but very outdated and needs updating. Food not very good at all.

We had a 2 night stay here so we could visit Stonehenge. Room was for 2 adults and 2 children and it was everything we needed. Staff we're great and we ate in the pub restaurant both nights and it was great. My wife is vegetarian and they accommodated her without any problems. The food was great and it wasn't... More

Old charm good value. Although dated is clean with crisp white bedding. Really friendly staff with great bar & food. Decent full english breakfast with cereals etc on offer. Local area very picturesque with a great indian restaurant across the road. Great for visiting thruxton or stonehenge.

We stopped here with the intention of having lunch on our way back from Stonehenge, as it looked nice from outside and an empty car park. We didn't stay for lunch. Went inside and it was so dark I thought it was closed. I walked through to another dark dingy bar and asked if they were open as the place... More

Good points : 1. The staff are warm and helpful. All of them are hard-working. We observed that they are not young but very energetic, especially the Welsh chef who works from morning to evening. 2. The price for lodging and food is reasonable. 3. Free parking with ample spaces.

We booked the last room, so beggars can't be choosers! We were warned that it might be noisy and it was. Good points were a comfortable bed and a reasonable breakfast. Downside were hairs in the bathroom and dirty mirrors in the bedroom, no light bulb in bedside lamp, butt ends thrown out on the flat roof by the bedroom... More

Three nite stay. Working locally so ideally located.good points-Friendly staff and ample parking. Bad points- dirty beds, bathroom, bed falling apart, dirty cutlery and utensils at breakfast. General hygiene level poor. This place could be very nice if the owner took some pride in his lovely historic building. One to avoid.

Reasonably priced for a 4 poster bed at the weekend in late Spring. A lovely village it's in too, so we'd happily reacquaint ourselves with the place. It served a bloody good pint also! Next time I'll most definitely try the food as we heard good things.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Room was a good size with en suite bath and shower with plenty of hot water at any time. The room itself however was not too clean and the bathroom paintwork and cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Bath needs to be renewed and the flaking ceiling too. Needs a good cleaner and... More

On the positive side, I liked the breakfast and the staff were friendly and helpful. But on the negative, the carpet in my room was filthy and obviously had not been vacuumed for sometime and there was mould on the shower ceiling. I could cope with this filth (although shouldn't have to for £60 a night), but what I found... More
