We followed the signs from Hebden Bridge and found the pub easily. Our welcome was warm and friendly and the place was very cosy. We both chose the homemade steak and ale pie, mash and veg which was absolutely gorgeous and very filling. We will certainly be back!

Good, hearty, pub food. A warming fire in the hearth. Timothy Taylor ales - try a pint of Boltmaker, it is very good. The couple who run the pub were very entertaining, helpful and accommodating. Nice clean rooms with comfortable beds and good quality sheets. I would thoroughly recommend a stay at the Hare and Hounds when visiting Hebden Bridge.... More

What a lovely, friendly place! We have 3 kids and their "family room" only had a double and single in it, but there was not only no problem putting an additional put-me-up bed in there, but when we unexpectedly had our oldest child with us at the last minute, they were completely happy with us bringing a camp bed for... First and foremost, I have put a 1 on rooms because it wouldn't allow me to submit the review without rating. I did NOT stay the night and so cannot vouch for the rooms. That out of the way, let's talk about location. It's near the top of the valley in Wandsworth, quite hard to find without the use of... More

Stayed for one night and wished we could have stayed longer, perfect rural retreat. Warm welcome when we arrived, room cosy and clean and the view from the window was gorgeous. Lots of choice of beer and very friendly service. Evening meal of pie was all that we had been promised, one small point we would prefer gravy served in... More

Just returned from a wonderful stay at The Hare and Hounds. Absolutely perfect, can not fault it. The landlords were such welcoming and friendly people, nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely meal from the fantastic menu, in the warm comfortable restaurant/bar, before retiring to our cosy, clean comfortable rooms. Would definitely recommend this bed & breakfast and... The best food menu Ive ever seen with over 10 vegetarian options plus more curries, and the one I chose was superb as was my sons dinner and the breakfast. Very friendly and helpful landlord and landlady and very friendly locals. Very comfortable genuine country pub in a completely unspoilt location. Bedroom was lovely, beds comfy, even spare toothbrushes provided.... More

Visited with a group of friends and had a long wait for food even thought we were the only diners. When it finally arrived it was very disappointing, poor quality and some of the food hadn't been cooked for long enough and was virtually in-edible. The menu reads well and appears to promise good value for money but unfortunately does... More

A warm reception awaits you at the Hare and Hounds, after a steep drive from the town. From a well kept cellar comes some excellent Timothy Taylor beer and from the kitchen comes delicious home-made food. The rooms are clean, with tea and coffee making facilites, plus toileties and even tooth brushes provided. The beds have crisp white cotton sheets... More

For anyone thinking of going to stay at the Hare & Hounds, please think very carefully before you make up your mind! It is situated about 500 yards as the crow flies from Hebden Bridge town centre, which roughly translates into about a mile and a half uphill! If you are Special Forces fit, you may be far-sighted enough to... More
