My wife & I stayed 1 night at the Black Horse on the recommendation of friends. 1st impressions are very important & Zoe on reception made us feel so welcome & deserves a mention. We had "green" room which is a huge room & bathroom with whirlpool bath. The food in the restaurant was superb & the chef should be... More

We had two nights at the Black Horse situated in the little village of Clifton and thoroughly enjoyed them. Our room was in the Champagne House across the road in the P.J. room and as the name suggests it was French and champagne themed, a bit OTT but great fun! The room itself was very clean and well appointed. The... More

Bought a voucher for B&B and a set meal. Great location for touring, nice village pub with smart rooms. We had the Blue Room. How did they get the furniture in there? The staff were very friendly, the meal was top class (we chose from the a la carte menu for a small supplement). Plenty of choices for breakfast. Recommended.

Only one night at this delightful place. Staying in the gold room in the courtyard. Nicely decorated on trend. With some sweet extras cafeteria sewing kits candles in the bathroom well done. Dinner also was of an excellent standard although we opted for the a la carte menu which naughtily stated an extra £5:00 supplement for the steak we were... More

We stayed here in August 2014. The hotel side is pleasant and friendly but the food was awful. The rabbit dish had a long list of components, which should have been a warning. It was cooked sous vide but without any finishing in oil or butter, resulting in a nasty soft tasteless pasty texture which could just as well have... More

We booked a deal through Travelzoo at the Blackhorse Inn for bed, breakfast and dinner for our anniversary. On arrival we were allocated a room over the road from the hotel, the room itself was nice with a nice big bathroom, however after a few minutes we noticed that water was leaking through a light fitting in the ceiling, my... After several recomendations I decided to take my other half for his birthday. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the surroundings were nice although sitting on high barstools to eat wouldn't have been my preference. I found the menu a little limited as I don't eat red meat so I had the choice of cod or haddock. However, the fish... More

As it is just over a mile from junction 25 of the M62, it is in an ideal place to stay to tour West and North Yorkshire. The hotel has an informal 'Country House' feel to it without any pretentions. The rooms have names rather than numbers (I was in the Gamekeeper room) and vary in shape and size. The... More

Overall a very pleasant stay. The room was clean and classically decorated, lots of dark wood furniture. It was a good sized room with a lovely modern bathroom. All staff we encountered were very friendly, particularly the manager I believe and also the waiting staff in the restaurant. I only have 2 minor quibbles. As a part of our night... More

Very impressed by the experience from start to finish . Offered dinner (a la carte) bed and breakfast for two people for £100 - I had read very good reviews so I was looking forward to going . We were told that the only bedroom available was in the courtyard , when I asked what they were like , the... More
