We booked a deal through Travelzoo at the Blackhorse Inn for bed, breakfast and dinner for our anniversary. On arrival we were allocated a room over the road from the hotel, the room itself was nice with a nice big bathroom, however after a few minutes we noticed that water was leaking through a light fitting in the ceiling, my... After several recomendations I decided to take my other half for his birthday. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the surroundings were nice although sitting on high barstools to eat wouldn't have been my preference. I found the menu a little limited as I don't eat red meat so I had the choice of cod or haddock. However, the fish... More

As it is just over a mile from junction 25 of the M62, it is in an ideal place to stay to tour West and North Yorkshire. The hotel has an informal 'Country House' feel to it without any pretentions. The rooms have names rather than numbers (I was in the Gamekeeper room) and vary in shape and size. The... More

Overall a very pleasant stay. The room was clean and classically decorated, lots of dark wood furniture. It was a good sized room with a lovely modern bathroom. All staff we encountered were very friendly, particularly the manager I believe and also the waiting staff in the restaurant. I only have 2 minor quibbles. As a part of our night... More

Very impressed by the experience from start to finish . Offered dinner (a la carte) bed and breakfast for two people for £100 - I had read very good reviews so I was looking forward to going . We were told that the only bedroom available was in the courtyard , when I asked what they were like , the... More

My wife and I dined, and stayed, at The Black Horse with two friends for a birthday celebration. We had a wonderful meal and a fabulous evening in general, thanks to very attentive staff and the excellent of the food provided by the Chef, whether at dinner or breakfast. A busy and, clearly, popular venue whether dining or socially meeting... More

A really nice pub, the food was excellent, the service was superb, highly recommend! We had an early Friday evening supper prior to going to elsewhere, and everything was spot on, the wine selection was very good too.

Stayed here for the wedding of two dear friends. What a lovely place. From start to finish the day was an absolute gem. Arrived in time for lunch and whilst not cheap, the Caesar salad was fantastic. Stunning courtyard for wedding and how well the staff looked after everyone. The hotel room was so quaint, plenty room, very luxurious and... More
