Stayed here once again for our wedding anniversary on the 6th December for one night on a travelzoo voucher. We only live a couple of miles away but find it such amazing value that its not much dearer to drive and stay the night than it is to have an evening meal and taxis to and from home. Once again... Stayed for second time. Can't fault the staff who are great. We like the accommodation and find it very peaceful. The food is the highlight of our stay and the wine list offers us everything we want. Can't wait for our next stay.Although the menu has plenty of choices my partner can't get past the fish and chips which are some of the... More

Not informed there was a function on when booking & the owner was surprised we could hear any noise & no offer of a reduction. the back & bathroom wooden single glazed windows back onto the... More

I am sorry to hear that you felt the Jacobean Room was not good value however I note that you booked your room at very short notice and took our last remaining room which is why no discounted prices were applied. You may well have heard noise from the wedding part as you crossed the courtyard to your room however... More

We visited for Sunday Lunch on a Travel Zoo voucher and were delighted with our visit. The staff were warm and friendly and the service was excellent without being intrusive. The food was first class and absolutely delicious. We will return with, or without a voucher.

We stayed here on a travel zoo offer and were not dissapointed. To be honest, when we pulled up we were a little dissapointed with how it looked but once we got inside it was lovely. All of the decor inside the pub, restaurant and reception were really really nice and our room was gorgeous. We were in Jacobean which... More

Great period building beautifully decorated with comfortable & quaint bar. Had the pumpkin soup to start....amazing flavour with hot crusty bread! Followed by the fish platter with fresh crab, crayfish, whitebait, smoked salmon. Best I've ever had & enough for two......definitely coming back. Oh yes the bedroom is very comfortable & quaint.....unlike so many big name hotels!

Have stayed here before on a Travelzoo voucher so was very pleased when it appeared on Travelzoo again. Upgraded once again to the Green Room which is charming as well as being very comfortable. Food wasn't quite as good as on the previous visit as the Table d'hote menu was very limited, but the breakfast was excellent. Staff and service... More

Lovely atmospheric pub, with really well designed and equipped rooms and a restaurant that is clearly capable. We stayed with a group of friends, arranged through a special offer voucher that included one evening meal from a restricted menu or provided a credit to meals from the a la carte. Our party chose a selection from both, and were surprised... More
