First off, you can't get a better location, right across the street from the beach and views from the balcony (with electrical wires in some rooms though). The staff was super friendly at check-in, then it stopped... They are just "meh". The place is really clean though, the shared bathrooms are continually cleaned with buckets and buckets of soapy water.... More

Decent hostel with different kinds of rooms, all for the same price 12$/pp. What room you get will probably decide how good your stay is gonna be. We were first offered a small room in the back with a window straight into a tree and no direct sunlight. We were about to decline and were instead offered a front room... More

My room had broken bed wich made it very uncomfortable for the back. The whole building is very run down. The owner is very grumpy lady. She likes to talk bad about others behind their back. At the check out i asked to keep my bag for one or few days. The owner said it would be a huge affort... More

After reading some of the reviews of this place I decided to give it a try anyway. Truth is, I am very easy to please, just a bed and a fan will do - mostly just happy for a place to crash after a day of exploring. I also want to say that I have never written a negative review... More

I booked to stay for a few nights, however after one I left immediately. The owner is so rude!!! My partner asked her when breakfast finished to which she simply replied it's ok it's open. We come down for breakfast at 9:10 she advised abruptly that breakfast finished at 9? Refused to serve us and started abusing us to the... More

Owners arguing in front of customers, lack of communication between them and horrible way to approach customers, silly rules. The food was good. other than that and the location, would not have stayed there if anything else had been available.

Our room is tiny and the beds are not comfortable at all, but we do have a tiny balcony with a view of the water and a great breeze. The lady that runs the place is extremely rude! So rude, that if she hadn't made us pay immediately I would have looked elsewhere for a room.

included breakfast. was very sweet. I recommend to anyone going for a few nights to san juan del sur. very central. rooms were small but kept clean. rooms are close together so you can hear everything that's going on! but beautiful view of the ocean.

Built in 1929. it's a great old historic building built to catch the breezes (it gets hot during the day.) $20/night for a room with 3 single beds and a balcony overlooking the beach plus breakfast. Older reviews say the owner/manager was rude, but she was very pleasant and helpful to us. Rooms 2 & 5 are the best.
