I stayed at the, "Casa Tocote" on the top of the hill (1 week). Great exercise making the trip up to the room. The main pool provides an excellent resting spot as you reminisce over what you think you might have done the night before at one of the wild bars in downtown. The restaurant though breakfast was comped was... More

Our first time visiting Nicaragua and we loved it. The hotel had spectacular views and was close to the town. The staff was friendly. There were a lot of stairs but we made it up and down. Great exercise tho. The spa services were great and cheap. Family friendly. We stayed in the Brazil villa. Too many bugs for my... More

As far as I noticed, every room (which are actually like small houses) had a breathtaking view of the bay. Stayed up the hill at Casa Brazil and loved having a cozy, yet spacious little house for ourselves. Bathroom was huge. At first had some trouble having our rental car up the hill, but after a couple of times, we... More

Thank you to the Pelican Eyes team for an amazing wedding. We couldn't have asked for anything more. We thought that planing a wedding in Nicaragua from the United States would be a challenge. However, Joel and his team did an amazing job of putting everything together and allowing us to just have fun with our friends and family. They... More

This was our first time in Nicaragua..we visited Granada, Ometepe Island and choose to end our stay here in San Juan del sur at the Pelican eyes resort. We were pleasantly surprised ...breathtaking views, great food, excellent accommodations. Many others reported too many stairs however we did not find the stairs an issue. If we were to return, we would... More

You may think it's far from the town and beach, but it's only about four blocks. Don't let the guidebooks fool you, suggesting that you're staying way up in the hills. Magnificent rooms; ask for #101 if available: close to the pool and restaurant, beautiful view of the harbor. Be careful, do not ask for one of their king-size deluxe... More

Pelican Eyes was absolutely amazing! It was our first trip to San Juan del Sur, and although we are adventurous, we wanted to stay somewhere that we considered to be safe. Plus, it was our anniversary so we splurged. We expected to get a room and we walked into a huge open space with a full kitchen, covered patio along... More

Pelican Eyes is set on a cliff above San Juan del Sur. The lobby is the lowest point, and most rooms/villas are located higher up the hill. The hotel provides transportation to rooms, but it is time-consuming waiting for them to come. Your ability to move around the hotel grounds would be significantly hindered if you are unable to do... We stayed in Casa Vista Del Mar. It was big, clean, well air-conditioned and had a great view of the town and ocean. Best of all it was very walkable to the lobby so we didn't need to rely on a ride. It was a bit of a walk to the two upper pools but we said the workouts offset... More

We stayed in El Brasil. The room and view were absolutely beautiful. The patio was unexpected and very appreciated. Initially at check-in, we were greeted with complimentary juice. It was refreshing and much needed after the small hike to the reception desk. Our bags were taken to our room for us which we ended up appreciating because was also a... More
