Pelican Eyes was absolutely amazing! It was our first trip to San Juan del Sur, and although we are adventurous, we wanted to stay somewhere that we considered to be safe. Plus, it was our anniversary so we splurged. We expected to get a room and we walked into a huge open space with a full kitchen, covered patio along... More

Pelican Eyes is set on a cliff above San Juan del Sur. The lobby is the lowest point, and most rooms/villas are located higher up the hill. The hotel provides transportation to rooms, but it is time-consuming waiting for them to come. Your ability to move around the hotel grounds would be significantly hindered if you are unable to do... We stayed in Casa Vista Del Mar. It was big, clean, well air-conditioned and had a great view of the town and ocean. Best of all it was very walkable to the lobby so we didn't need to rely on a ride. It was a bit of a walk to the two upper pools but we said the workouts offset... More

We stayed in El Brasil. The room and view were absolutely beautiful. The patio was unexpected and very appreciated. Initially at check-in, we were greeted with complimentary juice. It was refreshing and much needed after the small hike to the reception desk. Our bags were taken to our room for us which we ended up appreciating because was also a... More

We stayed three days at Pelican Eyes in May 2015. Infinity pool by bar fun place to swim, heard and saw howler monkeys and even a jazz band Friday evening. But the highlight was the deep tissue massage that Karla gave me. She found and relieved some very tight muscles and really knew techniques. I highly recommend her services.

Loved this hotel!! Definitely worth the money and the long walks to the cabins. WiFi router was in the room! Stayed for one night, but I wish we were there longer! Amazing restaurant as well. The massages were great too! Must stay!

The cabanas are beutiful! Service was great.food was good also. At night time while having dinner they have traditional dancing, that was great. The massage was out of this world, I had a skin treatment and the massage, highly recommended. They even have a person that picks you up from the room and brings you down the moutain or you can... Such a gorgeous, well maintained property. The rooms are built up the slope of a hill overlooking the bay, and are connected by a series of winding brickwork stairs. It's almost reminiscent of Santorini. Even the rooms have a Grecian isle feel and are super clean, comfortable and secure. We stayed in Cabina Achiote, which had a sizable balcony with... More

I accidentally booked it for the wrong days, was suppose to be there New years eve. showed up and thou it was booked they were very helpful getting my room for the 2nd-5th of Jan. Pool rules were strange but was great otherwise. SJDS was a great experience. Pelican Eyes was a big part of that

Beautiful semi private villas with great views and an extremely helpful staff (although service is a little slow at times...just don't be in a hurry, you are on vacation!) They will pick you up and drop you off if you want to avoid all those stairs coming back from town, and help you arrange any kind of adventure you would... More
