We stayed there for 4 nights in August. The hotel has 4 pools, 3 which we made use of. The views of the sunsets from any of the pools are amazing, probably the best in the city. The hotel was clean and well run. Our room was nice with a huge bathroom and balcony. There are a lot of steps... More

Wonderful pools and a great casa to stay in. We had been at Totoco Ecolodge on Ometepe Island and before that at Mango Rosa in San Juan del Sur, and these were places with good facilities and accommodation, but also food and service which demonstrated real effort being made. The food and service at Pelican Eyes was largely unmemorable (but... More

I spent a week in Nicaragua and had several meals at Pelican Eyes. The food and service exceeded my expectations. The staff accommodated my large group in so many ways I felt so welcomed. I also got a massage and a full body scrub (coffee and cinnamon) - my body felt so soft and smooth after the treatment. I highly... More

By way of background, I would like to start off by saying that this is the first time I have ever written a negative review on a hotel. As such, I must warn other travelers so that they do not have the same negative hotel experience we encountered. After first arriving, we were given a map by the front desk... More

This is not a hotel per se as much as a condo development that hasn't quite made it. So you're staying in a luxurious condo with fully equipped kitchen, dining and living room. You are paying extra but as a splurge it's worth it particularly if you prefer to not be in the hub of bars and noise in the... More

Stunning room! Amazing view. Pools are great. Strenuous walk via stairs to the top pool. Had some ant friends in our bed, but it is Nicaragua. By Nicaraguan standards, Outrageously high priced drinks and food. Outrageous. $12 U.S for a hamburger. $6 U.S for a cocktail. In Granada, cocktails were $1.00 to $1.50. Although expensive, the food was great. But... More

The place to stay in SJDS. We were up the mountain so too far to walk around resort. They delivered baggage to room. Huge room with modern amenities. Nice view of Pacific Ocean. Tough resort to walk unless close to front desk. Luckily, our Niece had a car which eased our transportation concerns. When we used the hotel truck, the... More

Instead of a room we were given a house. A house you could only get to by SUV. It was far larger then we wanted. There were 141 steps up to the pool. Many too many down to reception. We booked for 2 nights but only stayed 1.

We stayed in Pelican Eyes for almost a week for our Honeymoon and it was perfect. First they upgraded us to one of the villas they have on the end overlooking the Valley, with a private swimming pool and a lot of space. Breakfasts were truly heaven, the view from the infinity pool was just breathtaking and the staff was... More

While the hotel is set on a hill with a beautiful view over the bay and the swimming pools are really nice, it is overall overpriced and the staff is unprofessional. Another issue is the fact that housekeeping doesn't clean the accommodations properly, which becomes a real problem given the invasion of giant ants (there were lots of dead ants... More
