The one thing this hostel has going for it are the two upstairs private rooms which enjoy a cool breeze and two windows which allow good airflow. Other than that, it needs serious work. The water stopped working several times while we were here meaning the showers didn't run, you couldn't flush the toilet (bad news) and no water to... More

This hostel is simple. Dorms with bathrooms. Elizabeth the owner is like a mother. She will do anything to make you happy and comfortable. Example: We went fishing and caught a big feed of Mahi Mahi. We gave her some money and she cooked us the best salsa rice fries papas and fresh garlic herb fish I have had. We... More

The dorm I stayed in had lots of windows which was a saving grace when the electricity went one night as we still had a breeze in the room. There was a good crowd staying here at the weekend so nice atmosphere in the hostel with people gauging drinks out the front. I will miss those rocking chairs! At 7dollars... More

Generally touristy towns of Nicaragua are overpriced for what you get in any sense. Accommodation of San juan del Sur is a good example, here you will easily pay $30 for menky room without bathroom. (If you visit there in the best season, like I did) So I don't say that only this place is not a good deal, but... More

Nice folks, descent pizza, great private suite upstairs! We were only staying two nights but it was only $25/night in late April. There is a kitchen and large bed/living room and we could have spent weeks at this central location only three blocks from the surf. They also have $15 rooms downstairs.

This is a great place to stay; it is close to everything in SJDS, and Elizabeth is just so sweet! The rooms are clean and pretty comfortable, and at $8 per person, it's very reasonable. I didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurant here, but the menu looked good.

Recently stayed in San Juan del Sur with a couple friends. Received a couple of recommendations for Hostel Elizabeth and overall we had a great stay. The rooms are clean, safe, have wifi, charging, and come with a fan! The bathrooms are sufficient, although the shower was a low point, but that aside it was a great place. The owner,... More
