My partner and I stayed at Hotel Maracuya for three nights early December. Although my review is not so timely, it's been in the back of my mind to actually come on to trip advisor and leave a comment because our experience was so good. Firstly, the young woman who managed the small hotel was incredibly friendly and helpful -... More

From the other reviews, this is a hostel, so you can't expect what hotels offer. We had a pleasant stay, great a/c, which you pay $18 extra per night for,no tv, but I'm not on vacation for that. Very cool hangout areas and views. The breakfast is included, but just pancakes with fruit. Eggs were a couple bucks extra. Coffee... More

Beautiful views from rooftop terrace, and the place is very clean, but that doesn't warrant the price of rooms. No TV, no wifi except in lobby or roof, low water pressure, and meagre breakfast. We moved to the next block after first night for much the same at almost half the price.

Far enough to be quiet but close enough to beach to walk and feel very safe. Free breakfast is just pancakes, so we only took advantage of it one day and went elsewhere the rest. Not an extremely social place. We went to casa oro and used their concierge service for better deals and general more know how around the... More

We stayed here just two nights, found the staff friendly, helpful, and English-speaking. The power went out on our second night all across SJDS, and with it our fan (we certainly couldn't blame Maracuya for that, granted the room somehow managed to feel always hotter than outside). We only really had two issues, if management is listening: the included breakfast... More

Stayed here whilst on my travels, very, very clean, wonderful helpful staff, lovely garden areas and communal seating area. Highly recommended. I paid $12 USD for a dorm room which had breakfast included in the price. Breakfast consisted of coffee, fresh fruit and pancakes.

Many people have mentioned the hill that you have to climb to get to the hostel. It wasn't as bad as I expected. The room was clean. Breakfast was fine. The reception guy was helpful enough. It wasn't outstanding, but all in all - it was a good fit for us.

We came without a reservation and found this little and beatiful hotel. The people that works here is very nice and friendly, actually the room is beautifully set, it's clean, has a working a/c wich is a great feature here BUT the bathroom!!!! The smell coming from it is nauseous, there must be a huge problem with the septic tank... More

The hostel staff was really friendly and helpful in giving suggestions for things to do and for cheap local food to try. Really grateful to staff for giving directions to take to various places as well. The breakfast was so-so, good enough to survive. No hot water in the rooms. The fan in the room was enough to survive when... More

OK.. So.. Hotel Maracuya itself is a very charming little hotel/bed and breakfast on top of a small hill overlooking SJDS. The reception staff were lovely, rooms were clean, breakfast of pancakes was good and we were enjoying our stay very much! My bf and I arrived back to the hotel after being out most of the day before a... More
