Ideally I'd like to give this place a 3.5 (good) review because it's better than average but not quite very good in my opinion. But it's definitely a good place to stay. Pros: - really nice owners and staff - good kitchen, filtered water, free coffee - good WiFi - great location - very clean Cons: - everything needs a... More

Cass Ariki is perfect place to stay when visiting SJDS. Sarah & Baldo were fantastic hosts with plenty of great advice and help during our stay. Free (great) coffee and the use of the kitchen was a plus. Only a short stroll to all the shops, restaurants and the beach but still located on a quite street away from any... More

The family that run the hostel as well as the employees are lovely. The kitchen is one of the best kitchens in a hostel I've ever seen. the hostels location is good its out of all the chaos in town so its nice and quiet during the morning and night. The rooms are fantastic and the hostel is kept very... More

Great location; few minutes walk to the beach and centre. Good wifi, use of kitchen facilities and coffee! The room I got was huge. The shared bathroom is fair; clean and no reason to complain. Funny: I had option for just a fan or AC with 15$ difference. I took the room with fan, and what do I see? Fan... More

Casa Ariki is a neat place to stay, rooms are clean, have a/c and cable tv and are decorated with a surfing theme. I had a room with shared bathroom but the bathroom was ckean as well. It's run by its owners Sara and Baldo who are very nice people and will help you on whatever you may need. I... More

This budget option is definitely a hit when in SJDS. We were looking for a less party option in a big party town, without blowing the budget. And Casa Ariki did just that for us. The house itself is large and breezy and the location is great being just a few blocks from the oceanfront and the restaurants/bars in town.... More

I stayed at this place for one day before I abandoned my 2-day reservation and moved to a better alternative down the street. There are many places I could start in describing what made this place such a dump, but the natural starting point would be the nest of pigeons that kept me awake throughout the night, providing the time... Loved casa ariki for the 4 nights we were there. It's more like staying in a friends house than a hostel. There is a big kitchen and living room which is great for meeting other travelers. Sarah, Baldo and Mateo are great hosts and really make you feel welcome in their 'home'. San Juan del sur has a lot more... More

We were supposed to stay for 3 days at casa Ariki in november. The owner replied to us quite quickly on internet when we tried to book the day before. The bed is really comfortable and huge! It would be good to have more shelves in the room (we were in room 4) since there is very little space to... More

Hello and thank you very much for your feedback! We are very sorry that there were issues with the air conditioner - San Juan is a tourist town but still operates on a Nicaraguan business schedule and unfortunately we were not able to find a technician during the weekend. We normally would have moved you to another room, but as... More

Baldo and his family are so sympathic and friendly hosts, that leaving San Juan was kind of sad. We had a great time and Baldo also was an excellent surf teacher and gave us best advices to explore beautiful San Juan. Always friendly, humorous and open minded. Also we've got some impressions of nicaraguan politics, culture and adorable lifestyle. Thanks... More
