We found this magical place last minute based on a recommendation by the owner of Tribal Hotel in Granada, what a treasure, located in a private enclave, along an amazingly beautiful beach, in safe, guarded, gated community this villa was everything we could ask for and more. The design was brilliant, incorporating all the beautiful surrounding nature creating an indoor... More

What an amazing experience to fall asleep looking out at the stars, and listening to all the sounds of the jungle at night! Every night we experienced an amazing view of the sunset, cold Tonas in hand, either swing in the giant hammock or soothing in the refreshing pool. We experienced a sighting of a sloth, many monkeys and birds.... More

My family and I spent six nights at Casa Suerta and we loved it! It is a trek getting up to the house and you are well advised to have a four wheel drive. Stock up on basics as it is a good 20 minute rugged driving to San Juan Del Sur. The view can't be beat, the rooms and... More

We totally agree with all reviewers. Beforehand we were a little worried if staying in the middle of nowhere as two women would be the smartest thing, but no worries here. Just go, get a 4WD and enjoy! The house and the community is stunning and felt safe. Tons of birds, great rough roads and very private. We checked out... More

I am hesitant to write this review mostly because I would rather keep this amazing place a secret! We had the pleasure of spending a week at Casa de Mono and it was the perfect way to end our trip. The house is amazing, as some other reviews have mentioned it is like luxury camping with all amenities included. This... More

We stayed at Balcones for 2 weeks over the holidays and it was wonderful. The designer homes are luxurious and set in the hills so that it feels like you are in the cool treetops. Quiet and a short drive to beautiful and very private beaches. The only downside is the road in from San Juan which is very rough.

we stayed in casa culebra - simple and elegantly beautiful. The extra amenities, including boogie boards and a cooler found in the storage room were great & must have's for long afternoons on the beautiful beach below! the road is quite bumpy and even our toyota rav 4 had difficulties on certain sections so be prepared to really be out... Just like the other reviews said it is nice, but there are some things to consider when booking. The road is bumpy, you need a 4x4 and the amenities are a little spotty. We didn't have hot water except for 1 day out of 12. We ran out of water for a day, which made for some cruise ship like... More

We stayed a week in Casa Arbol. Girls trip! And a memorable one it was. It is like camping, I would have to agree with other reviewers. But with all the amenitites. It was so great and really brought us back to Nature which we needed. We all live in big cities and just wanted to get away! We had... More

Balcones is what's left from a very poorly-timed but ambitious eco-friendly development begun in 2006 and put on indefinite hiatus when the recession hit. Smart TA users are likely cross-checking against Morgan's Rock: Balcones is a development by the same people. In fact, based on the success of that resort, they thought "maybe people would buy homes that feel like... More
