It was fine. I had the room right by the street(#9) where literally I could hear the men outside breathing and yelling at 5am in the morning...every morning. It was pretty basic and common of other hostels. Set breakfast each day and it tasted good. TV worked well. Bed was fine. Laid in the hammocks upstairs and enjoyed that. I... More

I stayed in San juan for about three weeks and spent most of my nights at casa oro. Its a real choice place right in the middle of town. They have reliable shuttles to the beaches and pretty sweet rooms at a good price. The free breakfasts are awesome, and all of the staff are epic. The roof top bar... More

Stayed at casa ora for over a week now and i have to say this place is fully sick mate. The rums are cheap, the chicas are hot, beers are cold, beds comfortable and cool. Ben runs a pretty tidy bar up on the rooftop with some banging bangers pumping all night long. Peace

Stayed a couple of nights at casa ora and was a great experience, mean breakfast and easy and regular shuttles out to the beaches. And geo is pretty cool. Cool bar on the roof with cheap rum all night, comfortable beds in the dorms for a reasonable price.

Stayed here on and off for about 2 weeks. One of the nicest hostels around. The free breakfast that changes daily is very good and excellent to be included in the $10 dorm price. The place is spotless, somebody is always cleaning something. There is a kitchen to cook your own food. Some of the cookers are a bit slow... More

I had the greatest experience during the my stay at Casa Oro. The staff and other guests were friendly. The hostel amenities are great and the house is beautiful. Once you are in the front door, it feels like being home. It is also very safe at night. The after 11 quiet rule was respected, and it was a relief... More

I stayed here twice on my way up Central America and down, I love any place that offers free breakfast. I found the staff helpful and kind! Also have a good deal for going to maderas beach. It was also good cause it isnt as 'crazy' as the other two hostels in town IMO.

The most unfriendly staff I came across in Nicaragua and purely money grabbing. They wouldn't help in any situation. Even when they made a mistake they tried to charge you. I even witnessed someone not been given there passport back for no reason. The hostel itself is ok. The breakfast is awful and leaves you feeling unsatisfied. Wouldn't recommend.

We are very sorry you are disappointed with your experience at Casa Oro. Given the generality of your comments and the fact that they seem to refer to other guests and not your personal experience, we regret not to have more details to be able to give you explanations. We also need details to follow up with the staff involved... More

Great experience here. Quality, free breakfast every morning, and cheap strong drinks upstairs from Ben at night. Good spot for Sunday funday because its close enough to walk but still quiet. Small lockers available for passport and other valuables.

The facilities of this hostel is good, clean comfy beds, clean bathrooms and a nice rooftop. You are not allowed to bring your own alcohol to the hostel. But what normally makes a hostels ambience good is the staff. The reception staff at Casa Oro was outright unfriendly and it seemed painful for them to work there. First example; I... More

You comment means a lot for us because we appreciate any opportunity to improve our services. We are sorry you were not able to use the hostel phone, as a very busy hostel we have to have our rules set so that the hostel phone is strictly limited to business calls. Mainly, our phone lines must be available for communication... More
