The Empark Grand Hotel is a typical Chinese luxury hotel - the first impression is of grandiose luxury but it is all facade and bling, and service is average. It is a completely sterile atmosphere, cold, and located in the nowhere. However, the rooms are comfortable enough and clean (at least as long as the hotel is still brand new),... More

There are not many choices in Jinghong/Xishuangbanna but this definitely one of the better hotels. The location is a bit far from the centre of town but this can also be a blessing as the town itself is pretty dirty and going through a lot of changes. The hotel itself is split into several blocks (I was in block C)... More

I am sure this 800 room monster is the best in town and for sure the rooms are spacious, clean and with comfortable beds. In true China style the common areas are huge and gaudy and everything is designed for large groups it seems. As the only westerners our primary challenge was language. The very accommodating assistant manager had to... More

By far the best hotel in the city. Rooms very clean and comfortable and great views of the golf course and Mekong river. Excellent value for money, especially rooms in the A block. Quite a nice golf course as part of the hotel and special rates for hotel guests.

Could not find an international 5-star so I booked at the #1 rated Golden Zone Hotel first. Big mistake. Moved to the Empark the next day for US$6 more. It was worth US$100 more. Stay in Block A, the 5-star tower. VERY CLEAN; spacious rooms; very good lighting; wired and wifi; comfortable beds and sheets; nice desk with ports; large... More

Excellent location near the Mekong river, good rooms with a lot of space. Beautiful views of the pagoda across the Mekong river. Service and food correct, although service can be certainly improved. Still difficult to communicate with employees, maybe because a great majority of the customers are Chinese. If you are a runner, do not forget to run along the... More

Truly a 5 star hotel...the Deluxe room was spacious (about 40o square feet), extremely well appointed, comfortable, etc. several of the staff spoke English and they truly tried to accommodate all requests. This is a whole complex with the hotel just being one element. Nearby building C had a nice BBQ restaurant, they will bring you to their own golf... More

This hotel was three months old when we stayed there so everything was new yet the rooms were surprisingly good. Bed was soft for China and comfortable and furnishings were nice. We really liked the bathroom very spacious. It is close to the river and the Thai exhibition area. One of our better hotel experiences while in Yunnan. Room service... More
