Modern and clean, with decent internet connectivity and walkable to all the sights. The food was pretty good, too. Jeanette was a great resource and helped us stay out of trouble! The front desk is not manned 24 hours and the doors are locked late at night, so make sure you let them know if you are stepping out to... More

Tashkurgan, a primarily Tajik enclave near the China-Pakistan-Tajikistan border, is a very lovely small mountain town to spend a few days, and, as others have noted, the Crown Inn is arguably the best (if not only) place to stay if you are looking for western-style amenities. It is warm, clean and well-lit, with reliable hot water, modern bathrooms and stable... More

Tashkirgan is a relatively small, mainly Tajik, town on the Karakoram Highway not far from the border with Pakistan and Tajikistan. At 10,100 ft it can get quite cold and it snowed when we were then in May. The elevation also can lead to altitude sickness and Diamox is recommended to counter the effects. The Crown Inn is the best... More

Stayed two nights at the hotel. According to Tripadvisor this is #1 in Tashkurgan. We found a relatively new place, with the basic facilities: the rooms were OK, clean (except for the windows !) ; the bathroom with a shower was OK, except the second day we had no water. Besides you are required to wait half an hour between... More

We were very happy to arrive at crown inn after the highway, so clean and comfortable. The rooms were well fitted and had all the amenities we needed, especially for the location, thank you to the thoughtful management. We had a delicious dinner from a vary and wide menu, not cheap, but quality and selection so worth it, it was a... More

Despite this place being called the Crown Inn, don't expect quality of a chain hotel... but looking at the town, I am sure this is the best place in Tashkorgan. The room are not special, motel like but confortable enough. The place is managed by a Malaysian lady, who speaks English, so no problem to communicate. We didn't have dinner... More

We had a very pleasant stay in the Crown Inn. Very clean rooms, great staff and a good restaurant. Beds were a little firm (how unusual in China) but that is the only criticism. If you get to Tashkurgan, make sure you drive to the Pakistan border; it's a very scenic trip.

On our travels on one of the far corners of the world (the Karakoram highway), we spend two nights in the Crown Inn in Tashkurgan. At an altitude of 3150m above sealevel and surrounded by the majestic Himalayan snow mountains, is the remote city of Tashkrugan. You would not expect to find any accomodation here of the like of Crown... More

A clean, comfortable, well run hotel in the most unlikely of places. Offers a very decent breakfast. Rooms are arranged around an indoor courtyard or atrium, which is a lovely nod to civilisation. Dinner at the restaurant needed to be pre-booked and was a disappointment. There was very limited selection and our chicken dish was essentially made of scraps and... More
