A pretty large hotel with 260 rooms centrally located along a very long main road that runs through Xiahe. Very convenient for shopping and food. Rooms are clean and fairly equipped with aircon, basic amenities and Wifi and comes with breakfast. Nothing to shout about but I would say decent! We stayed only 1 night just to visit the Labrang... Xiahe is a relatively small town at one end of which is the Labrang Monastery that, along with the Sangki grasslands, attracts most visitors. The Civil Aviation Hotel is one of the better places to stay in the town and it is an easy walk along the main street to the monastery. Almost no English is spoken here and we... More

This is a rather new hotel near the center of the town . The room and the bathroom were small but comfortable with the usual dirty carpet . When we arrived the room temperature was rather cold and we had to call someone of the staff to switch on the heater . The thing was difficult as no one in... More

The Civil Aviation Hotel is newer and located in the centre of town. From the hotel, it is still quite a long walk to the monastery. The hotel looks very impressive from the outside and looks decent on the inside as well. Overall though, I think the hotel is overpriced. The breakfast was not good at all. None of the... More

We were travelling with 2 children, 7 and 9 years old and we arrived from Lanzhou with a rental car. Nobody spoke in english in reception. Room was clean and facing the main commercial street. Previous comments from travellers helped us to take the decission to visit labrang monastery in xiahe and we really enjoyed our trip. Our trip from... More

We changed our plans and travelled to Xaihe after the Chinese Govt decided to restrict foreigners visits to Lhasa, and wouldn't give us a visa. Xaihe is off the beaten track, it has a large Tibetan population (>80%)and a significant Monastery that makes the trip worthwhile. We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. They see few non-chinese visitors so... More

this hotel is conveniently located near the main stret of Labrang (Tongren) where all the shops are andwithin walking distance from the monastery (the largest after the one il Lhasa). Pls note that NOBODY at the hotel speaks any language but chinese and that they serve only chinese breakfast therefore if you do not fancy congee and vegetables for breakfast... More
