We stayed three nights in a double room and found it a great value for the money. It had recently been renovated so everything was clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom had ample hot water (and even a shower wall, so water didn't spill all over- very unusual for China!) The cleaning staff didn't actually... More

This hotel has everything you could need here in Xiahe. First of all, the location is fantastic, literally right next to the Labrang Monastery and within walking distance from the bus station. There is shopping and plenty of nice places to eat right across the street from the hotel. Rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The hotel was... More

The hotel is ok...it is clean, the water was hot and the location is fantastic... The food in the restaurant is poor as is the service...things ordered will not be delivered but still be charged... We were there for 4 days and a cleaner never entered our room and upon checkout the desk lady ignored us for 20 minutes while... More

Only one staff member spoke any English. It took ages to check out because the staff ignored us until we protested. The WiFi worked in our room for a total of 2 hours in 4 days despite asking for it to be fixed. The room was never cleaned only the bin emptied once in 3 days. Only went to the... More

Very clean, though simple lodgings. Showers were excellent considering the location, water very hot. Security good too, though the dorm should have lockers. Staff reserved but helpful, resturant could do with more warmth.

We stayed there 3 nights and enjoyed our stay . Nice clean rooms recently renovated. Nice hot shower. The owner speaks very good english, he is always available to give you information and traveling tips. We followed his recommendations to go for a hike with nice view above Xiahe. We also used his service for a day trip to Ganjia... More

We stayed 3 nights at this clean, comfortable guesthouse. Losang, the owner, speaks excellent English and was most welcoming, helpful and friendly and can arrange transport from Lanzhou tours around the area The location is perfect for visiting the nearby monastery, cafés and shops.

I stayed at the Overseas Tibetan Hotel for one night during a school trip to Qing Hai and Gan Su provinces. Our planned accommodations were at the Tara Guesthouse, which is very well-located and a good place to meet travelers from all over China, including pilgrims visiting the Labrang Monastery. However, after two weeks of travel with limited bathroom facilities,... More

I had a good time there. People who works there always willing to help. Defenetely overcharged because of the Monlam Chenmo festival. Internet not working the best and tv not working at all. The hardly speak english. The good things I would mention about this place is that is very close to the monastery and that has good heater.

My family and I have stayed at the Overseas Tibetan Hotel many times over the years. The hotel was recently renovated and the standard rooms have all been remodeled very nicely. The rooms are very comfortable and the entire hotel is kept very clean. The hotel is located less than 100 metres from the beginning of the pilgrimage kora around... More
