I found the farms owner Dwight and his off beat cousin Mose kind and entertaining. This farm was a great location for my friends and I to get away and appreciate the countryside. We learned things we could not have learned if we had not gone here, such as making a table. I especially appreciated this activity because I now... more

The caretakers were incredibly kind and generous. Dwight told me and my wife many stories of his grandparents trip to Argentina. the second employee, Mose, was also very friendly and showed us how to make straw puppets and beet ale. we will cherish the pine table that we made there forever. Shrute farms is still wireless, so don't take anything... more

From the savory beet fields to the lovingly appointed farmhouse itself, Shrute Farms is Heaven on Earth! I recommend it highly as a fine place, full of culture and bustling with activity. Very romantic, as well! more

My boyfriend Jim and I went to our co-worker, Dwight's beet farm. It was very nice, but his cousin Mose kind of scared me. The only problem was that it smelled a little bit, and also, we woke up at 4 o'clock because it sounded like somebody was crying. We thought it might of been Dwight, but he said it... more

Located in quaint Honesdale, just outside Scranton, Schrute farms was a respite retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff was extraordinary and attentive. My wife learned to make beet syrup and beet rum from Mose. I especially enjoyed the “Bears and Beets” seminar, clinic, and field training headed by Dwight. He was very knowledgeable and quite... more

I had heard about this place from my friend pam. She said that it was the most interesting place that she had ever spent the night, so I decided to give it a try. I was greeted by an odd man named Mose. He's a great bell hop. When I entered the house I met a man named Dwight. I... more

First of all, we were not told that we would be staying on the farm in off season NOR that the rotting overstock of beets would be turned into mulch beginning at 4am every morning right outside our window! I'm sorry to the other people who enjoyed their stay, but we thought the staff was VERY odd. Moses (or "Mose")... more

Not only was Dwight and Mose's service impeccable all the activities such as manure dodge ball, and hide seek (Mose hides in the well) were so fun and a the fresh butter statues are amazing. The fresh smell of beets in the air and homemade German cuisine by Mose, makes Shrute Farms a must go for the serious weekend vacation... more

I stayed at Schrute farms with my fiance Deon. I have to admit that things werent going well with our relationship and driving up to the farm the first impression I had was that Deon would break up with me for sure. However after a adrenaline inducing first night of her holding on to me all night in fear I... more
