There's a reason that Schrute Farms is the number one beet-related agrotourism destination in Northeastern PA. Proprietor Dwight K. Schrute is incredibly accommodating and can offer all guests a 10% discount on all of their paper and printer needs. What a guy. The highlight of my visit to Schrute farms was Mose's table-making demonstration...highly recommended. Make sure to visit the... More

Trip Advisor lists "Beach" as part of the hotel amenities. I don't feel the pond truly has a "beachy" feel. The manager apologized and sent some beet champagne to try and quell our complaint. Unfortunately, beet champagne needs to be CHILLED, not served warm. In addition, the dixie cups provided melted due to the acidity of the champagne. I do... More

An interesting twist on a B&B...the beet wine was fantastic, but the host left a little something to be desired. I too found that the owners were trying to pass off purple potatoes as beets - a little disconcerting. More

The trip was superb! The natural aroma of beets drifts into your bedrooms and makes you think of simpler times. The dawn goose walk will tug at your heartstrings and yearn for the simplicity of life as a goose. Table making never seemed so possible, and yet so complex. You will never want to leave your room. The architecture reminds... More

I stayed at this beet farm, and received lots of great service from this family ran farm. Mr. Schrute was a bit strange but seemed to care about us a lot, although he talked nonstop about goats and some guy named Michael. The rooms were very well priced, for 59 dollars we got 2 queen beds and a very clean... More

As soon as I got to Schrute Farms, the owners, Dwight and Mose Schrute, ran alongside my car hooting and yelling things that sounded vaguely like, "BEARS, BEETS, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA!" Dwight told me I seemed visibly frightened, so he tried to warm up to me a little bit by showing me the farm. (Mose bared his teeth in an alarming... More

My husband booked a long weekend at this establishment to celebrate our anniversary. I have never had such an awful time in the country in my life. We were awakened at the crack of dawn by the manager, Mose, standing over the bed ringing a school bell. My husband got splinters from chopping wood. I ruined my manicure trying to... More
