My boyfriend Jim and I went to our co-worker, Dwight's beet farm. It was very nice, but his cousin Mose kind of scared me. The only problem was that it smelled a little bit, and also, we woke up at 4 o'clock because it sounded like somebody was crying. We thought it might of been Dwight, but he said it... more
Located in quaint Honesdale, just outside Scranton, Schrute farms was a respite retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff was extraordinary and attentive. My wife learned to make beet syrup and beet rum from Mose. I especially enjoyed the “Bears and Beets” seminar, clinic, and field training headed by Dwight. He was very knowledgeable and quite... more
I had heard about this place from my friend pam. She said that it was the most interesting place that she had ever spent the night, so I decided to give it a try. I was greeted by an odd man named Mose. He's a great bell hop. When I entered the house I met a man named Dwight. I... more

Not only was Dwight and Mose's service impeccable all the activities such as manure dodge ball, and hide seek (Mose hides in the well) were so fun and a the fresh butter statues are amazing. The fresh smell of beets in the air and homemade German cuisine by Mose, makes Shrute Farms a must go for the serious weekend vacation... more

However after a adrenaline inducing first night of her holding on to me all night in fear I... more

My sweetie and I decided to stay here after reading all the raving reviews on this site, and let me say, it was the BEST honeymoon we could have ever imagined! The musky smell of manure wafting through the windows in the early morning, the fun "where'd ya hide my underwear?" game that was played each evening with Mose... utterly... more
The labor-for-slumber package was just the ticket in this economy. We brought our pet fish bisquit along, and he truly enjoyed the fresh county air. For those who have not experienced the therapeutic vertues of a hay bed, you do not know what you are missing. Oh, and do NOT leave without teasing your tastebuds with the Beet tart, truly... more
