My wife and I had a very enjoyable stay at Schrute Farms. Dwight Schrute, the operator, is a very charming (if a little eccentric ) gentleman. His brother "Mose" is another matter. For some reason, he approached us one morning and announced that "Everybody poops. It's the only way to get rid of the food". He also attempted to sell... more

Me and my husband decided to spend a weekend at Schrute Farms in July after hearing such wonderful things about it. After being greeted by a staff member, we were taken to our room, the irrigation room. The decor was a little iffy. One thing that really won us over were the table-making demonstrations and the food, namely the beets.... more

If you are looking for a remote farm for a quiet, romantic getaway....look somewhere else. The "host," Dwight, is an overbearing survivalist who appears to have escaped from the local mental asylum. His "cousin," Mose, appears to have escaped from a local Amish community. Concerned a speedy check-out would encourage more oddball behavior by the two, we stayed the night... more

Dear lulamama, We are very sorry your stay at Schrute Farms did not meet your expectations. Please understand that most travelers do not realize what a hostile environment rural Pennsylvania can be, which is why Dwight is such a stickler for safety and survivalist tips. I can see why this might be interpreted as overbearing, but please understand that Dwight...

My husband and I decided to stay at Schrute Farms for our fifth anniversary. We were seeking a rustic and unusual location, and this B & B definitely fit the bill. The location was lovely, the room (Irrigation Room), quaint and kitschy...warning: the 2nd valve near the nightstand is HOT. We found the owner, Dwight, to be very helpful (maybe... more

I was traveling to Nashua to meet with my company's branch there, and chose this fine establishment based on all the wonderful reviews here on Trip Advisor. I was very please with my stay except for the fact that there was poop on the floors of most every room. I chose to stay in the irrigation room and that one... more

The Beet Slaw was delicious but I found a lug nut in it. Mr. Schrute told me that was it was a prize and entitled me to a Priority Appointment (you can sign up for bathroom time). I woke up in the middle of the night and found Mose putting a pair of my socks on his hands. But the... more

My wife and I were planning our wedding and found this small 60 acre beet farm off the main road. After passing a manufactured-home park and amish cemetery, you will find this hidden treasure. For a small fee, Schrute Farms will handle all the decorations, the red wedding cake (made from beets), and anything else you desire. A farm laborer/Justice... more

Fact: I arrived with high expectations. Fact: My expectations were exceeded. From the beet wine to the deep beet root massge and hand stuffed mohair mattresses, this was a 5-star weekend all the way. We highly recommend participating in Dwight's safety course (Lacawana County Volunteer Sheriff Deputy's Tips for Citizens), or learning outdoor survival skills(I had no idea that brown... more

Ok I’ll admit it, the sounds during the night weirded me out and I didn’t really understand what they meant by wireless but, other than the outhouse under the porch, we had a good time. As others have said, it is hard to find, and don’t even think about using your GPS. I couldn’t find the place on the unit... more
