We stayed here on a stopover on our way to Pittsburg, and I had a delightful time. It was safe, clean, friendly and convenient. Free, gated parking is included, and rates are very reasonable, compared to other local hotels. Bruce the innkeeper was prompt, knowledgeable, and efficient. The hotel is just across the street from a nice little river walk where... More

We stayed only one night and wished we could've stayed longer. The room was comfortable, especially the bed! We stayed in the Bryce Room, and the view of the Susquehanna was beautiful. We appreciated Bruce's suggestions re: dinner. Service was great, and so was breakfast. We'll definitely stay here again whenever we come back to Harrisburg!

Charming welcome, well appointed room, comfortable bed, and oodles of charm. Much thought has gone into the details, make up removers, water in the fridge, the well supplied beverage station. If only all hotels were this good at this price.

We arrived and were greeted by Bruce who immediately welcomed and showed us the locking keypad at the front door. Walked into this lovely B& B, I immediately felt at ease that this was a good choice. After paperwork, Bruce explained details to help us settle in. Earlier in the week, when the reservation was made, he listened carefully to... More

I often travel to Harrisburg for work and enjoy staying at City House when my visits are limited to 1-2 days. Because I travel quite a bit for work, I've developed a criteria list which City House caters to that includes: 1. A top floor room. All the guest rooms are on the top floor so you don't have anyone... More

My boyfriend and I attended a wedding in Erie, PA and stayed at a HORRIBLE motel there (Avalon, avoid it at all cost). We decided to treat ourselves by staying at a bed and breakfast on our way back to northern Virginia. After sorting through reviews of various B&Bs, we settled on City House. Thank god we did! The location... More

My husband and I enjoyed a too-short visit at City House and highly recommend it. The house is simply gorgeous, beautifully decorated and welcoming, like a small European inn minus the fussiness common to many B&Bs. There are only 4 guest rooms and ours, Helen, though on the smallish side, was spotless and quiet with a super-comfy king bed, convenient... More

We recently spent 2 nights at this delightful B & B. The rooms were beautiful and the facilities excellent. Guests are able to use reception rooms on the ground floor and coffee making facilities are appreciated. Bruce's recommendations on restaurants were excellent as well as his friendly chats during breakfast. Thank you, we enjoyed our stay with you.

The house is the main attraction here. It is as if you were a houseguest of a very wealthy and tastefull person. The owner, Bruce, is helpfull and accomodating without being overbearing, as B&B owners can sometimes be. The base rate of $109 was not much more than the cheapest hotel, and makes this a fine value.

Lovely house in a great location close to the river, the Capitol building, the State Museum and restaurants on 2nd street. The house is approx. 100 years old and has lovely original wooden features which give it a warm feeling. Beautiful dining room and reception areas open to guests. We chose the Bryce Room which overlooks the river and has... More
