I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay at the Slocum House Inn. My husband and I made our first trip to Gettysburg in June. We wanted to stay in a BnB and found the Slocum House Inn. It far exceeded every expectation we had for our week long visit. The first thing that prompted me to stay there... More

My fiance and I stayed at Slocum House Inn this past weekend in the Greene room. The room was clean and beautifully decorated. The landscaping was incredible. That was probably the most shocking part; SO CLOSE to Gettysburg and yet so far away from it all. We enjoyed our fresh fruit and muffins and stuffed french toast with bacon. I... More

Taking your child 22 hours away from home to go to college is a huge deal in many ways, one of which is travel. We elected to drive up and fly home, leaving a car on campus. This required pulling a U-Haul, so we wanted to stay "off the beaten path" along the way. This is what led us to... More

Due to availability at the Slocum House Inn, we spent one night here and one night at a b&b in Gettysburg proper. While we had a very good experience at the b&b in town, the Slocum House would be our first choice if we were to return to the area. We had such a restful stay. The location is quiet... More

The Slocum House Inn is a great place to stay while visiting Gettysburg. It's located about 10 miles north of Gettysburg but the drive to and from town is very pleasant. The grounds are beautiful and very peaceful and it is a nice change from the hustle and bustle of a big city hotel. Carol, the inn keeper, is a... More

We first visited Slocum House Inn in October 2001.We travelled from our home in Birmingham, England for an eight day trip starting with three days exploring Gettysburg, I booked Slocum House Inn over the internet, not knowing what to expect. After landing in Washington and travelling north to Gardners, we arrived in the dark and did not take in the... More

We frequently stay in B&B's, actually perferring them to a hotel. This is a lovely place located outside Gettysburg, VA. The grounds are beautiful as are the cottages and home. Our innkeeper was friendly and helpful and she genuinely seems to enjoy her work. We stayed in one of the cottages. Beautiful and quaint, with no phone or television, we... More

This historical farm home built in 1756 is a quiet country retreat outside of Gettysburg, perfect for discerning couples or singles. 25 acres, complete with vineyard, pool, and goldfish pond. The modern cabins apart from the main house have gas fireplaces, and gourmet breakfast is served in the "kitchen wing" of the main house, adjoining the main living room. We... More

This place is the model of the ideal country B and B. The grounds/garden are so picturesque and offer a feeling of peaceful seclusion. Unfortunately, for us we were there in November and missed the use of the quaint circular outdoor pool. The rooms and common areas are absolutely pristine and classily decorated yet achieve an inviting hominess. The architecture... More

This B & B about 15 miles outside of Gettysburg is highly recommended, quite reasonable a very nice room with a fireplace and also provides a very good breakfast. The owner provided us with a CD for a self guided auto tour of the battlefield which we used after we took the guided tour the previous day. This self guided... More
