Once again The Historic Fairfield Inn 1757 delivers. Good food, pleasant and friendly staff (Terry, Jeff and Mary Lou) and a great place to experience history is simply terrific. I look forward to my next trip to Gettysburg and another visit.

Thanks to Jeff and Terry for the hospitality, history lessons and delicious breakfast! Modern conveniences served in the shadow of Civil War remembrances create a restful and educational combination for a get- away. I appreciated their friendly welcome, comfortable accommodations and "ghostly" tales of a time gone by. The Fairfield Inn offers a combination designed to satisfy and an atmosphere... More

Wanted to find a place to stay in the area and was directed there. We found it to be even better than we had expected. The Inn is much like a museum with a rich history spanning its long history. Oh, but if the wall could only talk!!!! We had dinner in the Tavern and enjoyed it very much. I... More

What a great place to gather with friends. We were able to visit together in a beautiful and quiet setting. We loved the little quirks and sense of history of a house built so long ago. It was such a nice change from the cookie cutter rooms of most places. Our rooms were very clean and prepared for us. The... More

Thanks for the great review. The 1757 Suite is especially nice since it sits in the oldest part of the building. Glad you enjoyed it. More

We held the rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding here the night before the event. In planning the dinner, the staff was very easy to work with, offered suggestions, and ultimately we were served a fantastic meal at competetive prices. They were also very accomodating when I inquired about vegetarian options and they arranged to have the chosen wines ready... More

We ate at the hotel for a special wine dinner. The dinner was for Valentine's day. Each course was excellent and paired perfectly with wine from Adams County Winery. The stories of the Inn during dinner/with each course added to the overall awesome dinner. We are excited to go back for another wine dinner shortly. The building is clearly historic.... More

This is a very nice review, and I appreciate it. We will be having more wine dinners in the future, each with a different theme. Yes, John is the name of the new owner, and he likes to think of himself as witty. What I really want is to have my guests feel welcome and at home. See you soon! More

It was great to stay in an historic inn during our visit to Gettysburg. Accommodations were good, clean, and sufficient. The sloping floors and sloping bed as a result were challenging to sleep in for one of us. The staff were helpful and the breakfast plentiful.

Thanks for the good review about your stay. You point out one of the more charming aspects of our Inn, which is the sloping floors. The building was erected in 1785, and has settled. I look forward to your next visit. More

My husband and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary here. The dining room was warm, inviting and nice and quiet. We thorougly enjoyed a conversation with the folks at the table across the way. They visit every year. John, the innkeeper keeps a very tidy, clean, warm and inviting place. Food was great, reisling wonderful, service very attentive. Overall very... More

"Get away from the rat race". I like that phrase. Thanks for the great review of our inn. I've heard of people who will wait for 45 minutes for a seat at a Gettysburg restaurant, when they could drive just ten minutes and get a terrific meal in an historic setting. I look forward to your next visit. More

This is a fabulous, truly historic inn. My friend and I stayed in the Patrick Henry room, and it was beautiful! All the rooms are large, but most importantly, the staff are helpful and friendly! I will definitely stay here again, and I hope you'll give it a try, too! Very classy, very clean, very kind.

I love that you love this place. Next time, try the J.E.B. Stuart room. I think it is my favorite. Roomy, nice bed, and funky sink in the bathroom. More

I brought my 8 year old daughter, and I was a little nervous but John and his staff were wonderful with her. They made us feel very welcome and comfortable, and thankfully my daughter was well behaved! The JEB Stuart room was spacious, and the bath linens were obviously brand new and wonderfully thick and soft. The waffles are amazing!... More

I am very happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. I find that eight year olds become the guests of the future, so she is welcome back any time. More
