It was great to stay in an historic inn during our visit to Gettysburg. Accommodations were good, clean, and sufficient. The sloping floors and sloping bed as a result were challenging to sleep in for one of us. The staff were helpful and the breakfast plentiful.

Thanks for the good review about your stay. You point out one of the more charming aspects of our Inn, which is the sloping floors. The building was erected in 1785, and has settled. I look forward to your next visit. More

My husband and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary here. The dining room was warm, inviting and nice and quiet. We thorougly enjoyed a conversation with the folks at the table across the way. They visit every year. John, the innkeeper keeps a very tidy, clean, warm and inviting place. Food was great, reisling wonderful, service very attentive. Overall very... More

"Get away from the rat race". I like that phrase. Thanks for the great review of our inn. I've heard of people who will wait for 45 minutes for a seat at a Gettysburg restaurant, when they could drive just ten minutes and get a terrific meal in an historic setting. I look forward to your next visit. More

This is a fabulous, truly historic inn. My friend and I stayed in the Patrick Henry room, and it was beautiful! All the rooms are large, but most importantly, the staff are helpful and friendly! I will definitely stay here again, and I hope you'll give it a try, too! Very classy, very clean, very kind.

I love that you love this place. Next time, try the J.E.B. Stuart room. I think it is my favorite. Roomy, nice bed, and funky sink in the bathroom. More

I brought my 8 year old daughter, and I was a little nervous but John and his staff were wonderful with her. They made us feel very welcome and comfortable, and thankfully my daughter was well behaved! The JEB Stuart room was spacious, and the bath linens were obviously brand new and wonderfully thick and soft. The waffles are amazing!... More

I am very happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. I find that eight year olds become the guests of the future, so she is welcome back any time. More

Genuine friendliness felt as soon as we opened the door! My husband ordered ham and been soup and filet mignon with roasted potatoes and squash/zucchini. He said if he had room left he would have another plate! Very large portions and extremely tender meat! I had their signature chicken and biscuit dinner that was outstanding!! Highly recommend this place! The... More

Thanks for the great review. I can't see how your husband could possibly had more since we serve sizable portions! Maybe you should bring him to the Sunday Brunch Buffet starting September 7th. More

My fiancee and I were in Gettysburg for bike week 2014 and we were lucky enough to find this gem. We were in the 1757 suite, it was comfortable, clean and homey. The staff was great and chef Terry's menu and breakfast creations were excellent. Now that we've discovered the historic Fairfield inn 1757 we will definitely be going back.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying here July 11th - July 13th and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were very comfortable and the age of the inn along with the quirky slanting of the floors only added to the charm. The food each morning was amazing, a breakfast that would leave you full until dinner and... More

Thanks to John and the entire staff at the Fairfield Inn for my most recent stay in the Major Starr room. I must say that the service and amenities exceeded my expectations. The breakfasts' were great! The wine selection from the local winery was an excellent complement to a very good dinner - so much so, I purchased two bottles... More

We stayed in the 1757 room. It was a large suite with everything you could want. The staff were very friendly. Everything was clean and well kept. We stayed in the J.E.B. Stuart room which was quite large with a massive modern bathroom. Everything was very clean and the staff was extremely friendly. It was only a short drive to Gettysburg and given the high cost of bland "chain" hotels in Gettysburg, the Fairfield Inn was a real value. We were there to attend a Civil War... More
