Surprised at the bad reviews here. When I stayed the room was very spacious with good storage. Bathroom was also big and very clean. Apart from check in and checkout had no reason to call on service but they were pleasant enough in the interactions I had. We stayed at the Red Roof Inn, Essington, prior to leaving for an early morning flight out of the Philly Airport. This hotel is only 4 miles away with easy on/easy off highway access. Not a terrible hotel, but the bed mattresses were worn out. Also, climate control was not explained in any way, taking some adjusting. The reviews for this hotel have been so effusive that I had to write. This place is one step above a motel 6 like place and definitely 1-2 steps below a holiday inn. I have never stayed at a RRoof Inn before so I am not sure that the renovation that I saw at this place is common to all... more

For a economy hotel, I found my "Business" class room clean, nicely furnished and considering the location near the airport and the city, very reasonable. Susan, at the front desk, was again a friendly and helpful employee. My 2nd year staying here for an event, and will come back next year. more

We picked this hotel because it was close to Citizens Bank Park. The hotel could use a makeover, but it was clean and we felt safe there at night. We only slept there overnight . The clerk was nice. It's accessible to the highways and it's next door to both a diner and Denny's. more

This Red Roof, although styled as an Airport hotel, is located in the ugly, ugly, ugly town of Essington, about ten minutes away. If you don't have a car, you will just be stuck here.
