After staying at the Bel Aire in Erie for 20 years, I have to write to warn others to save their money and time and stay somewhere else. I don't know what has happened, but the hotels' better days are long gone. We always have stayed there because of the location, but the hotel has been neglected and is worn... more

I can't believe I paid $143.00 for an old tired room with dirty cups next to the dirty coffee machine. Stained carpet, dangerous looking clientele, noisy halls. I would rather have stayed in a college dormatory. This was the worse place I have ever stayed. more

My son and I were on our way back from Baltimore to Toronto after a trade show and experienced quite bad driving conditions at around 11:00PM. We called a few local Motels and I thought the rates were high. I called the Clarrion Hotel and got a rate of about $69.00 which was close to or less than the rates... more

Poor service. Staff seemed "bothered" by questions. Hotel owner was more interested in making money than serving customers. Mold and fungus in shower. Hair at end of hair dryer, Hair found in ice trays of refrigerator. Mold in swimming pool. Stained blanket and bed cover. False advertising on restaurant specials. Will never stay here again. Suggest anyone thinking of staying... more

We stayed here over the weekend and booked directly from the hotel and paid 50.00 less than other budget hotels in the area. Room was clean and nicely decorated. Check in and out was quick and easy. All staff very pleasant. Breakfast was nice eggs, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, waffles-hot and already made, toaster, and the usual items. Breakfast can be... more

Erie in the summer is a tough town to find a hotel room in. We booked this hotel after looking for vacancies in a lot of other hotels. This is the old Bel Air hotel, the first impression you get is this is a hotel from the sixties. I stayed in Erie hotels in the sixties and this is very... more

I had reserved the room for 2 nights, but when I checked in, I told the front desk clerk that I would be gone by 6pm the next night, and I asked him about not paying or getting a reduced rate for the 2nd night and he said it probably wouldn't be a problem. The end. When I go to... more

We stayed at this hotel for three nights last week and found it to be just fine for what we paid. We had to be in that location, not south of Erie around the mall, so this hotel was the best for the location. The hotel is still undergoing renovation and that is reflected in the room rate. The rooms... more

Ok where should I start, I guess with the good things. They are renovating. Ok that's it for the good stuff. Rooms are small, beds are hard. You do get a choice of pillows (firm/soft) so I guess that could be considered another good thing. Oh wait another thing the Atrium/Pool area was very nice. Although the indoor pool was... more

Stayed at this hotel on business for 4 nights in late November. It is a small motel type hotel that currently runs as the Bel-Aire Hotel and Conference Center, with the Clarion Name attached in small letters in some of the signage and amenities. Rooms are average size, but bathroom is very small. Beds have newer comforters, sheets, blankets, and... more
