The two old souls and former owners of this one time fine motel are probably turning in their graves as this place rapidly goes down the drain. Unkempt rooms, nasty people at the desk are just the tip of the iceburg, and they don't blink an eye charging 100.00 for a cell. This place can't last under these conditions!!!!!!!!!!! more

Have been staying at the LEL for several years when in Erie fishing. Liked the mom and pop atmosphere there. Hadn't been there for a couple of years and without hesitation booked again for our fishing trip arriving 9/10 for 3 nights.Thought the rate was a bit steep,$110 a night, but figured it was tourist season. We were greeted by two... more

I have been staying at Lake Erie Lodge three times a year, for the past 10 years and LOVED it. Quaint motel close to the beach, in a nice area. I booked via phone on 6/28/08 and talked to Ali, securing a room with 2 beds, for 2 people for $90 a night. We arrived and the woman asked me... more

As with the previous lady we had reservations to stay towards the end of July '08 for 2 nights. We were traveling with multiple families and were given a group rate apparently. We were originally told 105/night then 111/night. Something came up and we were only able to stay 1 night so I called 3 weeks in advance to cancel... more

First let me first say that we have NOT stayed at the Lake Erie Lodge since the new ownership took over (late 07/early 08). I did call, however, in January to make reservations for our summer trips (we usually stay 3-4 weekends per summer at the Lodge). When I called, some of my information was taken, but the young man... more

We have stayed at The Lake Erie Lodge in Erie, PA many times and stopped in to get a room on a recent fishing trip. Found out it was under new ownership and apparently the new owners do not want boats and fisherman. He stated very clearly that boats were “too much problem” and added another $10 to allow us... more

If you are looking for a 5* hotel, then this isn't it. Don't come here expecting that and you won't be disappointed. This location was a last resort for us, and we were sure the property would be dumpy and unkempt. Instead, although very basic in amenities, the decor is quaint, the room was clean and quiet, the property is... more

This hotel has an apartment for families. We reserved the apartment for a two-night stay. When we entered the room, it was filthy. There was at least a quarter-inch of dust on the ceiling fans, and when I turned one on the dust flew around the room. The kitchen counter was dirty and sticky. Heaven only knows what unwanted critters... more
