Helpful and friendly hosts, Cathy and Paul, made us feel welcome in their quaint B & B. They offered tips for our bike trip, and even offered us lights to use to navigate the long tunnels along the trail.

By far the best B and B we've ever stayed in. Cathy and Paul made us fall in love with Emlenton. We are looking forward to staying there again. They had great stories and great advice on where to go. They made us feel like we were living on a commune with our own romantic room

This is only our second experience with a B & B, and certainly won't be our last. The Alleghany is directly across the road, and even though skies were gray during our visit, the view was beautiful. Cathy and Paul are wonderful hosts and you're sure to come away with a lot of knowledge about the area. The house is... More

Cathy and Paul are the best hosts at this cute B&B on the river in Emlenton, PA! We enjoyed our stay. They will chat with you at breakfast and offer great ideas for the area. The furnishing are antiques that are unique! The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is delicious! We highly recommend Barnard House B&B!!

My fiancée and I stayed as well as our best friends as a mini getaway. We had no idea what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. Cathy and Paul are very inviting and knowledgeable of the town and surrounding areas. The B&B is very clean, relaxing and full of history. We will definitely return.

My boyfriend and I stay at the Barnard House often. It is our halfway point between our two homes in Michigan and New Jersey. We call it our Halfway House. Cathy and Paul treat us like family when we are there. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is always delicious. I will always give the morning coffee 5 stars!!... More

We decided to stay at the Barnard Bed & breakfast, because we were riding the Alleghany Trail. It is a very nice place to stay right along the Alleghany River and close to the trail head. The owners, Cathy & Paul were very friendly and helpful and knew the history of the area. The breakfast are very delicious. I would... More

We decided to stay at The Barnard House B&B when visiting a friend in Butler and were very happy we did! The owners, Paul and Cathy, are still working on the finishing touches to this wonderful older mansion next to the Allegheny River. They opened the house for business in June of 2014. They have 5 different rooms each uniquely... More

I arrived late on a Sunday with the road over the bridge closed and found a lovely house, with swing chairs outside, a garden full of flowers and the river moving slowly by. Peace at last after 12 hours of travel. A wonderful place, old newspapers and music sheets on the wall, a host of pictures and knickknacks. Breakfast the... More

Read the other reviews. Not much else to add because quite frankly they are doing it right. and people are recognizing that. I was alone the night I stayed - and sitting out on the porch, watching the river just can't be matched. Breakfast was superb. I ate and watched the river. Again. I could stay here and just watch...
