I booked three nights here with a view to exploring the central part of Hadrian's Wall and I was not disappointed. Lovely double room with spacious bathroom, clean and well equipped. Breakfast included and there is also a restaurant providing dinner most nights of the week. I ate there every evening and the food was delicious. Regarding Hadrian's Wall, the... More

This is a great country pub with b and b facilities . Food fantastic both evening and breakfast and brilliant real ales, most local. Staff very friendly as are the locals who made us feel very welcome. Couldn't fault bernard s meal recommendations, although he did threaten to call in on us to check we had eaten what he told... We booked a night for the family to recover from an hectic weekend, prior to flight home. The proximity to Newcastle airport was just right - rural yet convenient. The rooms are well furnished, VERY CLEAN, superb beds (slept SO well) with good shower room/ bath. The meal was absolutely brilliant; beautifully presented and well served. Wine prices varied sufficiently... More

We stayed here for one night on our Hadrian's Walk week. We wwre picked up by the owner of the pub and had a pleasant ride to the accommodation. We would've liked a room with bath, but unfortunately this was already taken. Instead we stayed in room 2. It's a pokey room with a tiny bathroom, but everything is present.... More

We stayed over a weekend - the post code and address is "Hexham" but it is some way out of the town, so stick with your “satnav”. We loved it, nice pub nice location and good food. We had room 4 which is over the bar, but we still managed a good night’s sleep. Parking is at the front of... More

This is small b and b over the pub which near the remaining part of hadrians wall. we had room 1 which had a large bathroom. despite being a pub we found it quiet and restful. We ate there in the evening and the food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We have just returned from a two night stay at the Red Lion and must compliment them on their hospitality. From room facilities/cleanliness, breakfast/dinner, selection of real ales and wine we could not find fault. You are staying in what is a really nice village pub with letting rooms, so expect to hear some noise from the bar at times,... More
