I stayed at the Hargrave House for one night while in town for work. I usually stay in boutique hotels but Hargrave came highly recommended by my coworker. I stayed in the room on the third floor over the dining area. There are a few stairs heading to the bedroom as you passed the bathroom. In the bedroom, there was... More

Historic Doylestown, home to ceramic tile artisan Henry Chapman Mercer, best-selling novelist James Michener and other noteworthies, is a charming and pleasant little slice of early America, full of well-preserved homes, good restaurants, cute shops and even a homegrown, downtown movie theatre. The Hargrave House bed and breakfast lies in the center of town, with seven rooms in a renovated... More

Together with my colleagues we travel to Doylestown for Business regularly and we always choose to stay in Hargrave House. We tried number of different hotels in the area in the past with overall disappointment. At Hargrave House rooms and facilities are excellent and a good Internet connection allows us to work from the hotel. Breakfasts are best in the... More

My husband and I visited family in Doylestown Borough over the Christmas holiday. Rather than stay with our children we decided to stay at this charming inn. Our room was on the third floor which was a little inconvenient dragging luggage up three flights of stairs. But once we got to our room in was worth the hike! The room... More

Really nice location near local shops and restaurants. Quaint, has that inn-type charm. Hostess checking me in was gracious, very helpful and super patient. Beds were really comfortable. Electric fireplace was a nice touch. Big jacuzzi in the room but did not use it. Next morning, breakfast was as described in earlier reviews- supermarket English muffins and bread, local jam... More

Just returned from a "girl's weekend" with my sister, friend and their grown daughters. We picked Doylestown as a charming town with lots to do and it and the surrounding area didn't disappoint. First the pros of Hargrave House: location is great, walk out the door to shops and restaurants; beds are super comfortable although not sure they were all... More

Our son and his fiance found this charming place while venue searching for their September 2012 wedding. Once they decided on a Doylestown wedding, we booked all 7 rooms at The Old Hargrave House, splitting the rooms between both families and the bride and groom. This was a perfect environment for the families, both adults and children, to connect in... More

I found Hargrave House on tripadvisor when I was checking out lodging in the Doylestown area for a girls weekend away, and we were certainly not disappointed! We were warmly greeted by Sandy, and she explained all of the ins and outs of the place. She recommended a fabulous place for dinner (Paganini's) and cooked us a great breakfast to... More

Lorna is a fabulous raconteur, but with that lovely British reserve, doesn't give up the stories unless you ask for them. She metes them out, so that I never had that "uh oh" feeling I can get around garrulous innkeepers. She just gets it. Every other guest who came in for breakfast this morning is the type I'd want to... More

When we decided to meet our friends from Philadelphia for a weekend in Doylestown, we wanted to be within walking distance of the Mercer Museum and the James Michener Museum. So the Hargrave House certainly fit the bill. The original part of the building is from the early 1800s, where we enjoyed a delicious customed-ordered breakfast in a homey room... More
