Was clean but needs to be remodeled.Has high ceiling so the heat stayed up there.Beds were ok but the sheets would not stay in place at all. The restaurant was a joke...very high prices and we couldn't find anything to eat on the menu.

Our room was clean, nice, and was in a nice location where we were only 25 minutes away from everything we had planned for that weekend. Staff was very nice and friendly. We would gladly stay here again! The air was turned off, but that was not an issue. If your room gets too hot even without the heat, close... More

Really nice, clean, simple place to stay. Nice quiet surroundings, big outdoor pool looks great, but we didn't even consider it in October! Even better if you're a fan of mid 20th century Americana, this is just like the places I stayed as a kid in the 60's. Do be warned that while the rooms are very well maintained and... More

Wow. Don't know where to start. We arrived in the evening and entered into our stale, musty room only to discover that we could NOT turn on any air conditioning. The entire complex had the air shut OFF. We resorted to opening the door to let in air...and insects..and cigarette smoke. The room was extremely dated, smelled stale and musty.... More

We booked this for a two night stay while visiting the PA Ren, Fair. According to their Web Site and reviews, it seemed like a great place to stay. How wrong they were, at least for us. The room was an absolute disgrace. Dirty, moldy, smelly, filthy. When we first went in, aside from a smoky odor, ( yes we... More

This is our 3rd or 4th stay at the Black Horse. Facility is always very clean and the staff goes above and beyond to accommodate whatever you may want. Breakfast is basic, cereal, toast, yogurt and fruit, certainly enough to get you going. WiFi and climate control in rooms could stand an upgrade.

We took a room for 1 night & ended up staying 3 nights. Didn't need to go anywhere else. Right on the street we wanted to shop. Room was nice. Had back door to parking. Front door to pool & yard. Large outside gazebo with tables & lights. Room had a extra sink outside of bathroom for coffe & dishes.... More

I love our occasional weekend getaways to Amish Country. We had to check out of our fist motel in that area due to hot water issues, and because we had stayed before in this motel in Adamstown, we checked into the Black Horse Lodge for our last day in the area as we had stayed there once before a few... Rooms were clean, the balcony was nice. I would stay here again if they changed the beds. I stayed two night and could not sleep. The bed was so hard and stiff it was like sleeping on a piece of wood. The staff was super nice. But because of the beds I wouldn't stay here again.

I seen the reviews and I was a little nervous, but when we arrived we were greeted by a very cheery and bubble young lady which was very refreshing after a two and a half hour drive. We received our room keys,,,,YES I said room keys and went to our room. Yes it was dated but you can see that... More
